The game is so much more enjoyable with the extended out lanes and they even have been approved by the games designer Steve Ritchy.

Get ready of many many many hours of fun. I find STTNG one of the most challenging machines I have worked on.

Quoted from vec-tor:

If you are talking about the flipper mechanism, You need
a torque driver and a 3/8 wrench. If it is a revised pawl
assembly then all you need is the wench.
The pawl assemblies are limited in their clamping abilities.
If you over tighten them, then they no longer clamp the
flipper paddle shaft. You might have to replace your lift and
right pawl assemblies. In a nutshell, pawl assemblies
are good for two to three loosening and tightening
against the flipper shaft before they start going bad.

What torque setting are you using?

Quoted from Pin_Guy:

I torque it until it feels like I should stop then I go another 1/8 turn.

I know what you mean lol but somehow I feel like Captain Picard in your avatar reading on how to get the right "torque setting" using your non-scientific procedure guidelines.

Quoted from Goalie:

Just joined the club. Is there a good guide to shopping the cannons? One of my cannons is really wobbly, and only shoots when it's turned all the way to the right, and the harness on the other looks like it has been patched multiple times. A lot of different color wires on that harness. Just want a good guide to take them apart rebuild and replace the harnesses.

I did my own and but here you can buy a replacement loom.

Quoted from Pahuffman:

Ok here's the update: it looks great! This is pretty good quality vinyl. Took me about 1.5 hours from tear down to reassembly. The vinyl sticks well to the wood. I wrapped around about 1/2 in on all sides on the back.

Looks excellent! Well done.I think I have to copy this lol.
