Thanks, now I have to hunt one down
Quoted from Jaybird815:Is this ship I circled part of a stock sttng or is this a mod? Mine has nothing in back left corner, Thanks[quoted image]
The Romulan Warbird is a Hallmark ornament mod, but is in the current location. It looks like your shuttle over the Beta ramp was also replaced with a Hallmark mod as it is a Runabout model instead of the original Einstein shuttle.
Quoted from Xtraball:That’s the Romulan Warbird in the back corner, came on every STTNG. Looks like this one may here been modded a bit but it looks good. The Enterprise is an added mod.
A Warbird comes with the game, but that looks like a Hallmark mod upgrade
Quoted from Xtraball:That’s the Romulan Warbird in the back corner, came on every STTNG. Looks like this one may here been modded a bit but it looks good. The Enterprise is an added mod.
Specifically; the Romulan in that picture is a hallmark ship. The original was not that detailed and did not have the Nacelles lit.
The original is a glued two piece unlit model which is only "reminiscent" of a Romulan ship.
Quoted from Jaybird815:Is this ship I circled part of a stock sttng or is this a mod? Mine has nothing in back left corner, Thanks[quoted image]
The original machine came with the Romulan Warbird (back left corner), Klingon Bird of Prey (left side), Borg ship (back centre) and shuttle craft (back right corner). Note in the picture the original shuttle craft has been replaced with one that predominantly appeared in Deep Space Nine. It is also common to replace the Warbird and Bird of Prey with Hallmark versions as they have more detail.
Edit: What everyone else said ... didn't see the thread had gone onto a new page of posts

That pic I posted is not my sttng, I have all the original ships except the Romulan Warbird is missing, I’m wondering if I should go original or put one a modded one back there

I wonder if you'd be able to find an original ... then again people do swap it out for the Hallmark, so you'd probably be able to get one if you want to go that way

There’s actually one for sale here, but I’m thinking I may as well upgrade to a nicer modded one

I appreciate it! I’ll probably take you up on that, are there any other must have mods? I’ve put the comet led kit in and have done a complete tear down shop job with titan rubbers and the borg ship pinbits as well as put a new subway in, I am absolutely loving this game!

Yeah ColorDMD is coming after I get my boards back from bullet proofing, I’m currently using the ones out of my BSD to dial her in, man this is by far the longest it’s ever taken me on a pin, now that it is, BSD is going have to take a back seat, I wasn’t expecting this pin to be as fun as it is

Color DMD is overrated IMO. If you haven’t already done it, led borg flashers and powered external sub are the bomb. I wouldn’t do full LED conversion without Herg pulse modulating boards.

Pinsound is more a bang for your buck than colordmd, especially for this game. Dont get me wrong i have a colordmd and it looks super nice hut how often are you looking at animations when you play?
Pinsound with external sub is mind blowing.
Funny, I look at the dmd when Playing video modes, and when I launch the ball... And when in at final frontier... And when I make asteroid shot... And....
Color DMD is a must have for this title in particular. It feels like it came with the game. Seeing an orange DMD in this game hurts my brain.
Quoted from Tranquilize:Seeing an orange DMD in this game hurts my brain.
So does beer, but that doesn't stop me drinking it
Getting my arse handed to me today by the Enterprise and it’s crew. Ball 1 I chose Launch Probe and missed the shot. “The probe has discovered nothing, sir” says Data. Ball 2 I chose Launch Probe again and missed the shot again. Data starts with “The probe has discovered...” and Picard cut him off with “Thank you Mr. Data!” Now I know Picard does that if Data is saying “ If you had propelled the ball...” and you hit both flippers, but is it normal to hear Picard cut Data off when a player stinks as bad I do? Ball 3 wasn’t any better!
Does anyone have a part # or a link to the ground post in the backbox?

Bingo! Thanks a lot. I would have never found it.

Ordered Pinsound. So excited!
As a grown ass man I was super excited to put my new stickers on my machine. Super great and simple mod. I may switch out the ships on the upper right or just lose the enterprise but overall I'm super happy with this machine. It's the longest standing in my collection and so much fun. It's just the right level of hard for me.
Biggest/best improvements to this machine are in my opinion and in order: LEDs, Sidebledes, Color DMD, and stickers.
There is only one thing that isn't working on my machine right now and that is the battle simulation. Both phasers work, but it doesn't always switch targets. It always feeds to right phaser for neutral zone shot first, but when it feeds the left phaser it only lights the scoop about half the time with the rest of the time it highlighting the neutral zone shot again. Any ideas on this one?

Don't discount Pinsound. OMG playing this game with real stereo and clear orchestral soundtrack from the show/movies is amazeballs. I'd even put it above ColorDMD.… I have both.
I got those metal stickers too but haven't put them on yet. Also need to install a separate 5/12v power supply(which I already have) for the extra lights, topper, ColorDMD, and flipper button lights. All those extras are dragging my 12v voltage down and it makes the flippers a bit sluggish.

I may put a pinsound in it down the line, but as it sits it already has the best sound package from the 90s with custom callouts from all the actors. I think this is the best bang for your buck machine out there.

But you can "enhance" those callouts...
I have it set up as random. Sometimes it says the regular callout, sometimes it's embellished... It didn't say the best ones when I recorded it. Also changed some music after I made this video. Didn't like that quiet period in the soundtrack during time rift.

I like the decals, have debated getting some for some time. The only thing that looks out of place to me is the Runabout in place of the standard shuttlecraft.

Ok have a spare board in my game while mine getting 50v serviced
Two issues off the bat. Each keeps launch a ball it then drains and Keeps launching over and over
Second issue the left cannon is constantly going back and forth. when I finally got a game going back and forth. I hear the voice saying no probe results. So is a switch stuck making it cycle?
Quoted from billsfanmd:Two issues off the bat. Each keeps launch a ball it then drains and Keeps launching over and over
Your game is trying to stage balls and is unable to, this is usually caused by a failure of the subway diverters or aux driver board.
Quoted from billsfanmd:Second issue the left cannon is constantly going back and forth.
This is a failure of the cannons to find home position; having both of these not working is likely a failure of the aux driver board column 9.
double check your connections...do you have a power light on the aux driver board?

Thx. My main diverter under pf is disconnected cause coil is fried. So I’ll test when I get coil fixed

Looks great! I should have posted these earlier...one of the best spots to run the wire is right alongside the Delta Ramp wiring and out the big hole in the playfield, I'm faily certain the clear cover plastic already has a hole in a perfect spot for this:

Looking at the picture of your Romulan ship, something looks a bit off, are you missing the green flasher cover? The hole in the bottom of the ship is the correct size to fit tightly onto this cover.

Pin_Guy thx alot!!...adjusted the settings till coil fixed and played a bunch of games...My left gun worked fine in test and did not search at all when I turned game on tonight. So I need to to just double check the switches to make sure they are making good contact. Hate intermittent issues.
I do have one issue and its the one repair I hate...flippers. My left flipper is perfect ball is super fast and all the shots are easy to hit...The right flipper just does not have the same power....Ball travles off it like an EM and goes about 2/3 the speed as the left....I don't feel any slop or mechanical....What should I check? clean flipper switch optos? new coil?
Thanks!

I had the same issue, I rebuilt them all, and now I’m nailing the Picard Maneuver

Thx. I’ll rebuild them including coil stops
But when I take them apart what are you looking for as far as problem areas?

Just replace all the parts that come with rebuild kit, like pin guy said, coils either work or they don’t, it’s about 15 minutes a piece I’d say

Yep. Easy Which kit do you get?
Question about the 17636 coils... where should they be placed?
I know from the factory they’re all 11629. I bought a STTNG not far back that has the 17636 upgraded coils installed tho.
My lower left is a 11629 and the upper and lower rights are 17636. It plays well so I would assume that’s right. But I’ve also seen all 3 as 17636?
