Are you saying that Start Mission is lit even when you are in a mission? It's normal for it to be lit at any time you aren't already in another mission, if it's lit while in a mission and you hit it what happens? As for Borg Multiball being too easy to attain, is the drop target and switch operating properly - if not that will cause some weird behavior.
I am thinking about resigning my commission and moving on to another pin. If someone has been looking to join the USS Enterprise this May be your opportunity.

You mean the scoop is constantly qualified to start a mission? I think that may be the default setting as mine does that too.
Define really easy to start Borg? On default settings, I think you can pick lock ball as a launch option for 2 balls then a right orbit shot to qualify the next lock and another right orbit to lock the 3rd ball and off you go. Alternately, you can shoot 6 right orbit shots to lock all 3 balls. Is yours easier than that?

The Borg multiball may have been a one off as seems normal now. Suspect the drop target was stuck down for a game ?
The one that's really not as I remember it is the start mission always lit. Maybe I just hit the scoop a lot but it seems like the game is on fast forward immediately starting a new mission when the last one expires.
Doesn't seem to be any adjustment on the features either. Suppose need to learn to not keep hitting the scoop !

That was me, thanks @erak! I got my wireforms back from being plated, and my my ball has been hitting/getting stuck under the ramp by the lock light so something is wrong. When I changed a spacer around so it clears, the glass scrapes the top wireform when I try and slide it back in. I can't believe the plating is thick enough to be the issue, so I'm thinking something is wrong with the way I reassembled the washers or hex post associated with that wireform. I figured photos from a HUO to compare might shed light on it. Here is mine currently in case anyone has dealt with something similar.

Guess im in the club...bought one two weeks ago.
The left cannon, after i shoot a ball, the shaft that projects the ball will contine to shoot out as the cannon goes back to resting poistion...any idea what may be causing this?

Bad opto in gun. It thinks it's still loaded.
I had this problem for a while. For me it was a couple bad solder points inside the cannon, and a couple frayed wires under the playfield.

i found it kind of a slog. I don't think I'm gonna sign up for another streaming service just to watch it.
honestly, i found The Orville easier to get through. Two stupid dick jokes per episode aside, it's pretty much MacFarlane trying to do a reasonably serious (if low budget) continuation of TNG. I am not a fan of Family Guy, but I know how much he loves TNG and it definitely shows.
I think the The Orville's jokey approach works well to defuse the pretensions of a TNG-style show -- it's easy to come off as preachy if you get the tone a little bit wrong. but does the comic relief have to be Norm MacDonald playing an alien who sexually harasses women? Because other than that i'm enjoying it.

To get back on course, has anyone implemented LED lights in the back after putting in a painted Borg ship. I had mine custom airbrushed but it is near black and you can't really see anything back there.
Maybe intermittent LED strip every other light or something? (pictures?)

Have similar issue. I'm thinking a DotStar LED strip under the upper Glass channel driven by a arduino.

Get LCD ColorDMD not LED
I love this thread. Most useful club thread on pinside in my opinion... But you guys are costing me money this week. I keep finding things my STTNG needs to have. I thought I was almost done with tasteful mods on this one.
Now I need to add the target decals, VUK decal set, and KBOP wingLEDs. Otherwise, I was down to just needing laser cannons, GI OCD, and LED OCD.
It already has colordmd (LCD on HiRes), outlane extenders, ramp protectors, hallmark KBOP, translucent titan rubbers, etc.
Did notice my GI wasn't very bright the other day. Found a blown F106. Amazing how much nicer it is to play when the other half of the GI is working.

it's best to replace the pin and crank when replacing the gearbox
You need get the gearbox out off the machine first, then you can set the shaft against a piece of wood, Mark the pin location and drill a small hole in the wood for the pin to sit in, then smack the pin with a hammer to get it part way through. You may be able to get a pin punch on it after that, or pull it out with vice grips.

That looks PERFECT! Actually looks worn like they've been traveling long time in space. Wish I could paint like that. I sucked as a kid with models. Only did OK with R/C car lexan bodies.
Question, how do you get onto the other leaderboards in the game like highest ranking officer, etc? Is it a setting? My friend made grand champ with 4 billion, but we can't seem to get onto any other leaderboard.

It was explained somewhere... but I forget specifically...
I think the officer requires a buy in... or maybe you need to actually get to a specific rank. I just don't remember.
Q Continuum is achieved when you "buy-in" for extra balls and exceed a score threshold.

High Score Tables
There has been much discussion regarding the high score tables. I have collected all info and dumped it here!
There are 4 high score tables:
- Grand Champion: 0 or 1 Buy-Ins
- Honor Roll: 0 or 1 Buy-Ins
- Officer's Club: More than 1 Buy-In
- Q Continuum: Score of 10 Billion or more (Any Number Of Buy-Ins)
Note: Prototype ROMs only have the Honor Roll for any number of buy-ins
Rules for high score tables [L-x ROMs only]:
- If your score beats the Grand Champion score, and you bought in one or fewer times, you get the Grand Champion score and nothing else. When you beat the GC, the old score is bumped onto another high score table as appropriate; if it qualifies for Q's Continuum it goes there, otherwise it goes on the Honor Roll.
- If your score is better than the #4 Q's Continuum score (but not the GC), you get on that. Buy-ins don't matter.
- If none of the above, your score is checked against the Honor Roll OR Officer's Club lists, depending on the number of buy-ins. One or fewer goes on the Honor Roll, more than one goes on the Officer's Club. Only if your score is high enough to make the lists, of course.
A major bug with the high score table: it seems that the Q's Continuum list is the only one capable of handling scores over 10B. For example, a local STTNG has a Grand Champ score of 18 billion. During the game, at the ball 3 display, it reads "Highest Score 18,...." but on the actual table it reads "Grand Champion 8,...." Lord knows why.
Also, scores that don't make the Q's Continuum list, but which are still higher than 10B, seem to be ignored entirely, or are compared with the other lists with the leading digit removed.
I crossed state lines to pick one up, having it cleaned up/fixed. Can't wait to play it soon. Just need to research best upgrades/mods to do. LEDs/color dmd/cliffys/rubbers to start!
So, I'm reassembling after a loooong shop job and the brackets on two of my new ramps don't fit the wireforms. I'm beyond frustrated to have to deal with this again as my Taxi ramps had the same issue and I should have checked before getting this far in. Has anyone had a similar problem with the repro ramps?

Mine have always fit well but they were not STTNG ramps.

IMHO; the hallmark upgrades are better for Klingon and Romulan ships. I personally still need to install/do my Romulan ship.
