Hello All, recent newbie to the pinball ownership world and had a question regarding the diverter at the top of the delta quadrant ramp in Star Trek: The Next Generation . I realized today that the diverter ramp was not working, it was stuck. After disassembling and cleaning it up, it now moves as expected. Now when putting it back together I placed it in the same position it was before (two black screws to lock in the diverter bar if that makes sense).

Here's where I believe I have a problem, whenever the ball goes up the delta quadrant ramp the diverter fires, but the ball just bounces back down the ramp. I think it's supposed to go down the wireform to the right flipper, however, the position the diverter is in blocks the ball from even getting to the ramp with the wireform. I'm thinking I have to reposition the diverter arm so it's further back and will not completely block the ramp to the right flipper, but figured I'd check here and get input from others.

Thanks!

You have the right idea. If you loosen the lock screws for the diverter under the playfield, you can rotate the starting/resting position of the diverter. After you tighten lock screws, manually move the diverter. At the end of its motion, it should form a clean path for the ball to loop around and go down the wireform. It may take one or two tries until you get a sense for how far off you are.

Remember to tighten lock screws before checking, otherwise the diverter rod will slip and rotate within the coupling and you're starting over.

Thanks for the feedback, that's exactly what I did and it works like a charm now. Hard to believe I've had it two months and I did not realize the diverter was stuck, kept thinking it was odd that wireform never got any action. Switch 83 error is also no longer being reported

I've never been a virtual pinball guy, but I'm sorely tempted to get a setup going on my laptop, just to see what "normal" is for these machines that have accumulated a bunch of "enhancements" over time. I loved TNG back in the day, but that was almost 30 years ago!
