So......what do you do on the Monday before MGC? That’s right, you take apart the game your planning on bringing and get it ready. No no, there will be no planning ahead except to order parts the week after you got the game and let them ferment under the game until the week before MGC when you say “I should bring STTNG so I can get a Colordmd for it”

And so it begins

So I do have an addendum. The game was resting peacefully in the corner when I decided to streamline the collection a bit a couple months ago. With that in mind, the boards have been gone thru and the wire looms replaced. I also pulled the subway and welded the collars back on so the diverted all worked correctly. As a side note, I prefer that actual foaming scrubbing bubble for cleaning subways. Sticks to the sides and all that crap just washes away.

I was going to start this a few weeks back and after some initial cleaning on the lower playfield by the apron, I stopped and put everything back together. New ramps were needed and more of the plastics were damaged the I initially thought. I went digging thru storage and found all my extra STTNG parts (this will be the second I “cleaned up”) and got a quick order together for the rest (plastic protectors, clear plastic set, flipper rebuilds, LEDs for inserts (had GI LEDs already), rubber kit, and other misc stuff). All of that arrived over the next week or two and was carefully squirreled away. That brings us to yesterday with a working but ugly machine that’s going to MGC.

So where do we start? We take it all apart of coarse

And this is where we are starting Tuesday morning. Playfield was soaked and scrubbed (simple green). All the ballguides were either pulled and polished in place (novus 3) the playfield was the polished (novus 2) and waxed (3 coats of P21S pure Carnauba). All the VUKs were cleaned (novus 3) and GI LEDs thruout the playfield. Also installed the pinball decals stand up targets.

Well, that’s 5 hours I want back. Ramps are switched over and all metal has been cleaned and polished.

For those of you playing at home, we are down to polishing a couple bolts and screws to finish final assembly and flippers. Full rebuild kit tomorrow and I still have to do all the lighting. That means I get to take the subway, one cannon and 2 flipper mechs off the bottom to switch over to LEDs. Hoping to get it wrapped up tomorrow so I have a day to tweak it

...and he put the stock popcaps back on... Sigh.
Wouldn't these have looked better?

LOL, you already got cash from me on this one. Have the BOP wing kit to try and install. That comes under lighting

Lights and flippers are done. Plays pretty good. Didn’t get the hallmark stuff done. Will take a look and see tonight. Also would like more light on the playfield. Might have to throw somebody spot light so in quick.

On a side note. WD40 doesn’t “fix” flippers. If your into pinball, please throw that crap away. Found mushroomed coil stops and plungers, bad coil sleeve, slop in 2 linkages, 2 cracked flipper bushings, one coil with poor soldering and broken wires in the lug, broken flipper bat, one bad EOS, and wd40 everywhere.

Everything is new now and plays strong

See you guys this weekend
