I was wondering if anyone has ordered these canon replacements from Marco's, they appear to be a grey metallic kind of colour but maybe its just the pic. Let me know

I would get the laser cannons instead
Nice touch, and easy to hook up.
I can't remember where I got mine though.
I don't know if he still has them, but I got pre-modded laser cannons from Mick at http://www.mickspinball.com/trek.html
years ago and they still work great.
I think the OP is asking if they look the same as the originals.
I have not seen these replacements in person, but I have had Marco replacement plastics in the past for STTNG and they were very fuzzy and blurred, colors were off, they looked quite terrible.
Judging bu that pic, I agree with you they look shiny and a slightly different color. It could just be the pic however, they could be right on. Maybe someone here has used them and can confirm how they look.

Lasers are fun

The lasers don't really help much for hitting the shots. They are more for looks than anything. I've got the lasers on mine and still just rely on line of sight for the shots.. don't get me wrong they help a little but not like a laser dot on my handgun. I still miss frequently especially on the neutral zone. Besides non pinball people freak when they see em lol
I have to agree, that the lasers really don't help that much. The shots are still pretty difficult.
I mainly bought them, because they look sooooooo much better than the originals. Plus, if you look at the video introducing STTNG, the cannons had the dome on them. Williams changed them in order to save on production costs (looks like it isn't just Stern that does this).
On a side note, I have the white rubber set on my machine...I think it looks a lot better than the black.
well, i think the lasers help a little but not a lot. it's not like you can fire right when the laser is on the target -- you will miss. you have to shoot it before it gets there. in my opinion, whether you are aiming by looking at the cannon or looking at the laser dot, it's still about figuring out where the thing is when you need to shoot and takes about the same amount of time to learn. to be fair, the laser probably is a little easier. but it doesn't take all the skill out of it.
but then again maybe i'm just a softie - i like the extended lane guides, too.
