I'm trying to repair the hack job done on this STTNG I recently picked up. As you can see the header pins must have gone bad. I picked up a new pair of boards but now I have to recreate the molex connector and undo this mess.

I'm not sure what kind of molex connector I need and exactly what the wiring is supposed to look like. Can someone post a photo of what the proper connection looks like and suggestions on parts. Thanks!

This is the part you are missing from the transmitter board wiring harness http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/5792-10847-05

Don't forget to get a connector key http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/CF156K

You need one of these insertion tools http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/77-IDC156 if you don't already have one.

I thought those were .100 pins?

IDK - they are very tiny pins. Here is a standard 3 pin molex. It's way too big for this tiny 5 pin header.

I updated mine a while back. I will look and send you a few pics to compare. I did not use the IDC connectors, you will see.

Go here

Buy
2 molex connectors (5 pin and one for the other side), some .100 crimp contacts ( https://www.greatplainselectronics.com/products.asp?cat=73 ), key plugs, and a good crimper.
Use the schematics in your manual to make the connectors. One connector is
Black space black grey grey
I forget the other side.
Be sure to test fit the housings.

You are probably correct, I was lazy and only looked at my tear down pictures for reference
