I've been looking and looking and I know there's multiple posts about this, but can't seem to find it now that I want to look. As I recall, the original way the Ball Lock (top of playfield) coil wiring was allowed for a failure to cause a cascade of bad things to happen. This could be fixed by rewiring things in a more redundant way?

My ball lock is finally to the point where it needs some lock. It binds sometimes so that may just need minor adjusting, but the coil also looks to be a little questionable and I was going to replace it and the sleeve, and maybe a new switch. While I do all that, I may as well fix the wiring, but I can't remember how to better wire it.

Can anyone point me to one of those posts or the explanation of what to do?

Aha found it, thanks for the search params I had to end up searching by user and then for 'purple', but I finally got there:

That's what I was looking for! It's a shame though - I ordered some 18AWG wire that I won't end up needing for another project, but it's brown, doh! Bay Area has similar colored wired though:

Looks like I'm all set. Thanks for the help!

I need to look but I'm pretty sure mine is the "old" way. I recall seeing 3 wires on the coil, but I could be mistaken.
