My STTNG kept launching balls onto the playfield when I turned it on. I noticed the balls were not making it to the borg ship (just barely not making it) so it couldn't load the subway. Once I manually rolled it in there the game was fine. I went to the plunger coil and replaced the coil sleeve but that didn't help. I always believed that coils either worked or didn't work. I'm debating on just replacing the coil anyway and seeing if that will fix it. There doesn't seem to be any play in the plunger assembly and it feels very smooth when I manually move it.

Any other suggestions? I'm having a party this weekend and want tto try and get the game running.

Thanks
CF

Quoted from joekiss:

The ramp has to be just right. Is it not going all the way up or is it just not making it in the hole??

The ball is literally just rolling under the borg ship, but not far enough to drop into the subway, so it rolls back out. We're talking an inch or so.

I will go throguh everything as y'all described, see if i can get a little more speed on the ball.

Got it fixed. Recleaned the catapult launcher, cleaned and polished the wireforms and playfield. Works.

Quoted from JohnS:

I had the same thing happening on mine about 50% of the time. The ball going up the ramp during launch was hitting the wireform of the return from the Delta ramp, so it was losing speed there. Make sure the 2 wireforms are aligned so that the bottom one isn't sticking up into the launch wireform. You can manually roll a ball up the ramp with your fingers and check that it doesn't hit the other wireform.

I'll check this too just to cover everything
