Quoted from LTG:You sure the Stern Spike games aren't 12 volts DC ? You can get a harness to plug into the power supply in the backbox to use 110 volts AC validators.
LTG : )
I'm pretty sure Stern have all of the SPIKE (1 and 2) games wired with their 9 pin harness on the back of the coindoor to power 110vac DBA as long as you connect and run the wire from the backbox to the front left side of the cabinet. They used to include that cable with the early SPIKE games and they later changed it so you had to ask for the cable. In all SPIKE games....you had to at least run the connection cable (from behind the AC cover in the backbox to the front of the cabinet) yourself. You can normally open the coin door and look in there to the left and see if the 110vac cable is connected if you know what to be looking for.
I also believe all of the SPIKE games have had a +12vdc connection on the cabinet node board to supply +12vdc for a DBA. It is connection CN9 on the cabinet node boards, but it wasn't connected to the 9 pin harness on the back of the coindoor...........until Avengers was released and they started including the connection to that +12vdc on CN9 on the cabinet node board and running it to the 9 pin connection on the back of the coindoor. Again....you can open the coin door and look at the CN9 connection on the cabinet node board to see if the +12vdc is plugged in to be supplied to the connection on the coin door. You should also be able to look at the 9 pin connection to see how many wires it has going to it to see if the +12vdc connection is wired into it or not. Though I don't know how many wires there are with and how many are there without it connected.
