In the past few months, we have noticed an increase in willful and blatant disregard for Pinside Rules, Moderators and their instructions.

We understand that some threads devolve and people occasionally get ejected, but there are certain things that posters simply cannot do...namely, dogging a moderator, ignoring the instructions and then shrugging off the impending consequences as no big deal. It undermines everything we try to do here.

When a poster does this, it is like he/she said: "Ah...so what. I'll just knowingly break the rules, and then take my 24-hour eject. Later, suckers! I'll see you tomorrow, and do the same thing!"

It more or less sends the message that:
    1) You don't care about the rules.
    2) You don't plan on changing your on-site behavior.

    Both cases are utterly unacceptable.

This is not something where you accidentally/unknowingly messed up. This is a blatant middle-finger to the staff.

We take it very seriously when one is so cavalier about breaking the rules...and goes out of their way in their attempt to rub our noses in it.

At this point, we have decided that this type of infraction will result in at least a 72 hour account freeze.

If you have an issue with a moderator's instruction or a moderated action, please start a moderator feedback thread so that you can discuss it with the entire team.

If you happen to earn such a freeze, please understand that you will be given an opportunity to have your freeze lifted. In most cases, it will be automatically lifted. In some cases, an email discussion will need to take place before the freeze is lifted.

    Thank you for listening,

    The Pinside Team
