Can someone check and see what switch is used to tell the game there is a ball that needs to kick up. Mine sometimes fires with no ball to be kicked up repeatedly. Shooting a ball will end it. Can it be adjusted or should I just replace? It's in a hard to reach space

The one down the center? Does it just need to be adjusted?

yea, probably but its in a hard to get to spot. i just need to slide the PF up to access it.

Quoted from merccat:

Be careful with switches in this game. They used the Piezo film sensor type at least on the playfield rollovers. Bending those can damage them and supposedly there is no adjustment to make with those switches.
I don’t know if the switch for the kick up is the same type or not, just make sure its a regular switch before adjusting. If it is one of the smart switches, see if there is an actuator you can adjust instead of the switch itself.

That's my fear. I don't have much experience with them because I'm more of a system 1 & 80 guy.

Quoted from Chitownpinball:

Some one smarter than I needs to make this as a kit and sell it to me.
LED strips on each side starting at the dots in my crude mock up.
The strips could be on all the time with warm white at like 50% or something low as to not blow out the player.
When the “bowl again” insert goes off, that triggers the strips to pulse towards the pins over and over. Maybe in red, then yellow, then white in that order, keeping with the colors of the game.
When a strike/spare is scored, the flashers trigger an “explosion of color” from the strips. Something sparkly maybe? This would be the only color puke I would want, for strikes or spares.
To each their own if they want that full color all the time, but I think this color scheme would be a nice compliment to the game.[quoted image]

Comet matrix system can be used for this. It's so simple that anyone can figure it out. It's all plug and play.

Connect the big strips to a dimmer and set to 50% not to blow out player. Then connect smaller leds to the bowl again socket. Then connect colored LEDs to the flashers sockets. Your overthinking this. This mod will cost less then 50 and can be done in an afternoon.

P.s. you can even hook up LEDs under the cabinet to flash with stikes/spares.

Nice. That looks like it's in great shape.
When I restored mine, I blackened the balls. The chrome was throwing me off too much.

Did you blacken your own balls? How so?

#59 4 years ago
Quoted from Chitownpinball:

Back Alley Creations makes the black balls. I have the ones that look like bowling balls...they have silver spots for finger holes.

I have a set in mine and have always been curious how it was done. I've always thought they would look better with 3 finger holes... just sayin

I think they look great in my game. But I wish they were better priced.

Quoted from NightTrain:

Yeah those are pricey...but so are the regular balls. Is there a better place to get them than Marco? I want to get 14 new balls and thats $60+. Seems crazy for some pinballs.

Ebay has 14 for 45$ free shipping. Marco's is usually my last resort but they are always over priced in everything.

MAD is fine if you live within the USA(I've used then 20 or more times no problems). Mostly the people that have had problems have been from Canada. Shipping to Canada is very difficult for some reason.

Let's see if anyone can beat my strike 90 score.

Not an owner of this great title but certainly looking...played it so much as a teenager!

I'm thinking about getting rid of mine. Looking to trade up, if your interested.
