Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

Finally rolled a 300 on this baby after about 6 months owning it. I didn't play it much till my neighbor starting loving it. He's close to getting his perfect game too. Great for multi player.

Was this a 300 where you cradled the ball before each shot, or was the a reaction 300?

I am in the club! Cabinet is really nice shape. Playfield has some wear so I be looking for a new one of those.

I have some display issues to fix. Need a manual though.

No PDF anywhere to be found. If anyone has one please let me know.

Congrats on the find. Good luck with the PF search.

Could some kind soul send or post a pic of the lamp and switch matrix.

I have bowling pins 6-10 not registering (switches are fine if I swap wire)

Lamps 30-36 are out, they all work I swapped connectors.

Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

Interesting. Everyone of these I've ever played has been a cradle and shoot situation. I've played several. Are there settings that make you lose the cradle after so many seconds. I always figured it was on purpose since your need to time your shot for flash.

Maybe it’s the setting about Strike difficulty. It goes from easy to extra hard. I don’t have a manual so I don’t know exactly what makes it easy or very hard.

My game is cycling balls in attract mode. Need to work on that before I experiment with settings.

Quoted from shirkle:

This is normal behavior. It might be possible to turn it off, but it’s definitely part of the attract mode.

I have read other posts that say it is not part of the attract mode and can be eliminated by doing a factory reset.

Are you going to add mylar near the flippers?

I bought Strikes N Spares with the same purpose of doing the retheme. I bought Pin2dmd displays and plan on adding some custom dots to the display. Still on the back burner as I finish up some other projects.

Quoted from ClarkGriswold:

Got started on some of the conversion. I had to cut out about an extra half inch on the marquee so the word "Lebowski" would be lit up. Planning on installing the rest of the cab decals next weekend.[quoted image][quoted image]

Looks so good. Following closely. Keep the group updated.

Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

I put the strike difficulty on very hard and can still cradle the ball and take a timed shot. I wonder if yours or my game has an issue. I've played 3 or 4 of these and they all allow a cradle for a precise shot attempt.
Any other owners able to chime in?

You can always cradle the ball. There is no time setting for that. I think the very hard strike setting is referring to switch activation sequences for make a strike.

#178 2 years ago
Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

That does seem to be the case. I thought I read somewhere in here that another pinsider's game wouldn't allow a cradle. Glad to know mine is fine, though.

I am pretty sure his case was a combination of playfield pitch along with flipper alignment or flipper stoke length. Where his ball would just roll off the end of the flipper if he attempted to cradle.

I could be totally incorrect.

#182 2 years ago
Quoted from TheMickster:

No cradles in my opinion...a set up shot like that makes it too easy....The timing is supposed to be a skill shot.
Please adjust your playfield angle as designed, which I think makes it a bit more fair for all players..

I totally agree, no cradling. I don’t think there is a setting to prevent it.

Finally got my game in the basement. Turned it on, 5 mins in during attract mode, it started to do the ball cycle thing. It’s been on for a couple hours now, no games played, and it hasn’t done the ball cycle again.

#187 2 years ago
Quoted from RC_like_the_cola:

Do you have an uneven number of balls in the game? Maybe it's calibrating where the balls are at the start. Maybe a switch isn't seeing a ball. Does it do this for only one side or both and several balls worth?

4 usable balls per side. 6 decoration.

Maybe it is a calibration thing. I have been playing the game daily for the past week and leaving the game powered up for long periods of time (12 plus hours) and I haven’t experienced any cycling of balls during attract mode.

The only thing I can think of, cycling occurs when a connector on a board becomes unplugged and then reseated.
First time I ever got the game I had unplugged all the connectors to reseat them as the game had sat for a number of years un-used. I had cycling then. Then it stopped.

I had removed the head of the game to get it into the basement. When reconnected, I had a cycling when I first powered on. None since.

Could be just coincidence.

Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

Can anyone recommend how to fix the issue of the kicker not being able to kick balls into the return lanes? It struggles greatly if there’s more than one ball in the back.
I’ll rebuilt it but it looks good right now. It’s nice and clean, hard to imagine the rebuilt will fix this issue
What’s the latest code it’s supposed to show? I believe mine is L114

First off, if you have the manual (I don’t), verify they coils are the correct ones. Next would change the coil sleeves and make sure there are no burrs on the plunger.

These two things are the ones I would suspect if both kickout are struggling to pop out the balls.

Quoted from shirkle:

After debating buying this for years…literally years…I finally splurged and bought a NOS playfield. Seems a little silly for this game, but I’ll probably clear coat it before installing.
[quoted image]

I too bought an NOS Pf. I think it needs a clear coat for sure. Soooo many have wear at the flippers.

Does your NOS pf have the factory mylar that stops before the flippers?

#198 2 years ago
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

Where?! I could use one

I saw one for sale on the Pinball Resource website not too long ago. $600 I think was the price.

One of the best games I have ever owned. Everyone understands bowling.

I can rattle off a complete game of bowling during a commercial timeout watching a hockey game.

If you have the room, it’s an instant add to any collection.

Quoted from jrcmlc:

Does anyone make protectors like cliffy for this thing? The edges of all the holes are like brand new, there looks like effectively zero wear on anything, be cool to protect it while it's all like new.

Make sure you have the proper flipper rubbers. Incorrect rubbers tend to accelerate wear at the flippers.

Adding mylar above the flippers might be a consideration.

Looks like yours already has mylar at the flipper area. You are all set to go.

Got a high score yet?

Whopping 170 lol

What is your strike difficulty set to?

Have you seen the Pinstein “Big Lebowski” trim kit? I am going to order it, just trying to find an economical way for shipping to Canada. Will prob have to work out something when I go to Allentown.
