Hello all!
I'm working on repairing an SF2 machine and the connections of the coin door have been all stripped off
I'm looking for a picture of the inside of the door, where i could see the connectors A10J1/A10P1 and also the location of the A24 board (front door interface).
Can someone help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated!
Excellent, thanks for taking the time!
I do have a manual, but it definitely helps a lot to see pictures like this.
I may need help again with my SF2 wiring... I'm looking for a picture of the diode mounted on the cabinet wall next to the knocker... I would appreciate if it was possible to see its polarity and the colors of the wires soldered to it... I could not find a good reference to it in the manual.
Thanks in advance!
Great pic, thanks! So the diode is apparently used only for the coin meter... no big deal then.
I can see you don't like the sound of your knocker And that you added a lot of leds!
Ok... So I have another newbie question... where is the switch B1 ??? (right wire ramp, optical). I know where the B0 is (top right ramp, optical), but not the B1 and it's always registering as "closed" on my machine.
Thanks!
Quoted from latenite04:It should be this one that gets triggered from the GUILE shot.

isn't this one A1 ?
I still cannot find B1 in the manual diagram! weird...
Quoted from smitherssp:Might I recommend this video. Great tear down. I plan on referencing it during my upcoming cliffy install.
Thanks! The little I did so far gave me confidence the playfield will clean up very well. I does not look good today, but it's just dirt and underneath it's in very good shape.
The only thing I'm not too sure about are the metal ramp flaps... They're a bit rusty but I never removed/put back rivets like this... Any advice?
IMG_20190810_150136 (resized).jpgThanks latenite... I thought they were added at some point. It's almost the only pieces that are rusty on the playfied... I'll leave them.
Thanks! I indeed managed to take it off from the playfield... My question (which was not clear) was more about separating the plastic bat from the shoe/shaft.
Hello all!
I have an issue with my car reset... It does not work after the car has been pushed beyond the winner insert. It looks like the coil is not powerful enough to "pull" the little plate (no "click" can be heard). However when it's in an "already reset" state, you can here the plate clicking (when starting up the game or when testing solenoid). Basically when there is no load, the coil has no problem pulling the plate, but when fully loaded it does not work...
I hope I'm clear
Any idea?
I fixed it... Yeah!
So, for anyone with the same type of issue in the future (and maybe it's common knowledge but I did not know about it), here is the solution.
The "car reset" solenoid (small orange one under the sub-playfield assembly) is mounted with 2 screws/bolts on its sides. The position of the solenoid can be finely adjusted if these 2 screws are loosened. I managed to put the solenoid closer to the little metal plate. It has to be close to it, but it should not touch it... and it worked! When it's close to the plate, the amount of energy needed to pull it is smaller. "Car reset" is now working every time.
Quoted from punkin:Loving the game so far, but the day i got it the car stopped resetting. (...)
Does anyone have an idea where to start?
Do not add lube! Look at my post a bit earlier (#1159), it may be due to the small reset solenoid not being strong enough to pull the metal plate. By adjusting its location, you can make it closer to the plate, and it may fix your problem.
Quoted from JodyG:Still looking for a donor window to make an exact repro from if anyone has one I can borrow. Doesn't even need to be perfect, I just don't want to make one off rough measurements and have it not fit.
I can do it... I'll send you a PM.
Quoted from Bennyv07:Here is a 1/43 scale of a Lexus LS400 I just purchased on eBay. Fingers crossed, I'm going to see if it fits when it comes in from HK. I'll break it down to it's shell and see if its easy to replicate. I did some color edits to make it look similar to the car in SF2. I may also add a "broken windows effect" to the glass. That might be a nice touch.

wow this car looks awesome. i hope you can easily mod it to make it work in the pin. following!
Quoted from Bennyv07:Just wanted to share some upgrades/repairs that i’ve done so far in the month that i’ve own this baby.
Please share some pictures of your wrecked car mod! I'm not sure yet what to do with mine.
Quoted from Bennyv07:Found this ‘74 Ford Escort diecast at Target for $8. Cut the back out with some wire clippers and gave it some damage. I personally love the look. Its temporary until my Lexus LS300 model comes in and i can customize it.

I love it! Really nice work "damaging" the car.
