Good review, and accurate. But how could you not gloss over the DMD.

Its a goddamn video game based pin, and yet somehow they manage to have some of the worst, laziest graphics I have ever seen.
They could have called up capcom and ask, hey guys, this pin we are building for you, could you throw us some good monochrome sprite animations?

But nope, somewhere at G/P some guy took a still, distorted image of each character and "animated" a blinking X over their face and that was an adequate defeated animation.

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

that's ok, that's the best place for a SF2. Is on the bench.

Or turned into one.

Bison is so happy about his cheesy mashed potatoes.

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

what's funny is that capcom made pinball machines. And fairly good ones at that. If they would have just waited 2 years, they could have did the license themselves and it would have been a hell of a lot better.

Pretty sure when Capcom saw this turd, they figured while having never built a pinball before, surely they could do a better job.

So in a way, i'd like to think we can thank SF2 for the existence of BBB.

Quoted from CaptainNeo:

because they are built rock solid and made better than everyone else.

Money had to go somewhere, cause it sure as hell didn't go into the coding...

or the dmd animations....

or the sound....

or the art....

or the playfield...

They lack some detail? The color ones were nearly completely replaced and re-coded, so they look a million times better, yes.

It was a game based on a video game, partnered with a god damn company that does nothing but make pixel art all day, and the "defeated" animation is a static headshot pic with a blinking X laid on top for christ sakes. They couldn't have made a phone call to Capcom and asked, hey, could you guys give us a couple 4 bit sprite animations to use? It's just lazy.

The Multiball, Extra ball and other pinball specific animations were just recycled from other Premier games.

You get an occasional spinning RYU animation of about 3 frames per second here and there...whoopie!

As far as the playfield art goes, a giant mound of cheesy mashed potatoes and some triangles is not decent. You can't rule out the original derpy Chun-li because someone else fixed it either.

There was a good reason TNT dropped one of these off the roof.

I was just generalizing @Malenko, don't get me wrong, you've done some amazing work.

Quoted from Malenko:

Its common practice for pinball companies to re-use generic animations across games

I honestly can't think of a single B/W or Stern that recycled the Extra Ball animation, or the Multi-ball sequence. Maybe the fonts.

Premier was just being super lazy or possibly, super cheap about things.
