I have an unusual one. I have a Strato-flite that won't advance the ball count stepper upon ball drain. When I checked for power at the coil I had 33volts (machine was high tapped) at the coil lugs. The 33 volts are there as soon as I power on the machine even before I press the left flipper button to engage the lock relay. The coil itself isn't engaged and I suspect the coil may be fried.

I checked the N/O cam switch and is open. Anyone have any ideas?

If you have continuous power across the coil it should get hot or at least warm. Disconnect one wire from the coil and check for continuity with an ohmmeter.

Re the continuous power, that's unusual but not impossible to solve. Disconnect wires along the highlighted circuit one at a time to help localize the problem. (The highlighted circuit is for a 1 player game)

Thanks HowardR - had a little more to spend on this today, found the Ball count step up coil was fried. Replaced it and all works fine.
