Quoted from cooked71:

Game was definitely rushed for some reason - a pre-xmas deadline for some perceived marketing benefit.
No doubt future runs will be fine tuned. Guarantee the "delay" with the LE's shipping is due to ironing out the issues we've seen to date on the Pro's. Looking forward to see these unboxed and played.

Source?

I have first hand knowledge this is wrong, along with 99% of the other complete bullshit posted about this game claimed to be “fact,” starting first and foremost with how the projector looks in person.

trindawg has 17 nib motors at his house that were to be used in LE machines

You could be right

Quoted from Manic:

What was the "trick" Eddy discovered that allows the magnet to hold the balls almost indefinitely without overheating? I saw this mentioned but there was no explanation.
Anybody know?

It’s not an electric magnet coil. It’s a regular neodymium magnet. When the balls are to be released, two coils pull the magnet away from the backboard.

#1090 4 years ago

Sort of an ingenious solution

#1092 4 years ago

I was told the magnet could hold up to 95 lbs. that is why it takes two coils to break it free from the hold it has on the balls

#1093 4 years ago

Here is what makes the demo move on the premium and LE. There is an extra bracket on the demo that is in contact with a coil and an up post

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Here’s to hoping that different mech for the prem/LEs makes the demo way more makable. Then we just need to figure out the ultimate fix for the pros. But I still think the best way is through software. Make it possible to beat the demo to death.

That would be great! The only problem I see is that there are no switches on the demo to register hits. Only an opto set to register it going into the mouth. Numbers 2 & 5 in the diagram

Maybe it could be implemented in some sort of “dirty pool” fashion, assuming a missed shot to the demo falls behind the drop targets

#1097 4 years ago
Quoted from f3honda4me:

Hits that don’t go into the mouth are registered in some way. 100%.

That’s great news! I still haven’t unboxed mine yet so haven’t had a chance to check it out.

A damage meter would be super cool. Make it an ongoing battle of some sort.

Quoted from f3honda4me:

LE is arriving tomorrow

You won’t be disappointed. I have it sitting btw a JP2LE and a JJPOTCCE and it’s holding its own. It plays smooth and fast, after its adjusted, like every nib requires. I really enjoy the right side “burn it back” loop!

#1179 4 years ago

I haven’t had any issues with the ball lock and ramp. It does take a clean shot to work, though. There are no dribble in give me’s. I bet it is a programming timing issue. If the .83 code were up on sterns site, I would try reloading it.

Regardless, I bet it gets addressed in future updates to accommodate for the slight variations in game to game set ups.

Quoted from bigd1979:

I'm with you man seams no one is ever happy with anything. We all sld just be grateful we have new choices to pick from. If you don't like then don't buy no one is forcing you.. no need to keep dumping on a pin over and over and over in every thread.. we heard it the first time. There is a group of 10-20 people on here who all follow one another and a certain Podcaster. So annoying...

There seriously needs to be a crackdown on trolling and negativity on pinside. It is the same offenders over and over. It has already driven nearly all those in the industry away, now it is driving good pinsiders away. I am unaware of any of these repeat offenders ever being moderated.

Pinside used to be a place to share ideas and the joy of pinball. Now it is a miserable place with 10-20 trolls constantly parroting Kaneda’s vitriol in every thread.

One of the biggest trolls in the Stranger Things threads is a pinside vendor. I can guarantee that I will never purchase another of his products. That’s his constant drum beat with regard to Sterns products.

This is how it should be assembled

Here is how to adjust your demo:

Change out the circled spacers to vary the resting height of the demo. (#20)

Add washers btw the bracket and the demo toy to tilt the demo forward, back, side to side, etc as needed to tilt the resting tilt/position of the demo, as necessary. based on the four holes and screws, you can adjust your shims/washers to tilt it just about any way you need to.

U can use the elastic band method to figure out where it needs to be, or use a slow motion camera to see where it is hanging up.

If your projector is out of focus, remove the #7 and 8 nut and cover. There is a focus wheel underneath. Use the focus screen in the diagnosis menu. The projector is on the left side under the apron, mounted in a bracket to the playfield.

After that, you will need to readjust the X, Y, and rotation on the individual projection areas.

Quoted from Looprunner:

Doesn't look that bad. I know it needs to go forward. I appreciate the advice.

No problem! I wanted to post and share for those having issues. It’s pretty simple to adjust.

#1279 4 years ago
Quoted from C0untDeM0net:Where would I find varying sized spacers to do this change with? Mine definitally needs to come forward as no matter what power I make the flippers it is hitting the bottom lip of the demo

The spacers are nylon spacers you can get from pbl. But that would be for up and down

If u need it to come forward, use washers on the rear holes btw the bracket and the plastic toy. It will mage the head tip forward and down

#1282 4 years ago
Quoted from f3honda4me:

Mine is exhibiting a strange new behavior. Whenever any coil fires, half the playfield lights flicker on and off quickly. Flipper coils, pop coils, bumper coils, etc = lights flicker. It's actually super annoying. Will see what stern support says. Power off /unplug then power back on does not fix.

Sounds like a loose plug.

Hope it is that simple, though.

I think the dimples have a lot to do with the color of the pf. I have a JP2LE right next to a Stranger Things LE. Upon close examination, they both have the same size and depth of dimpling, but they are much more visible on the darker Stranger Things pf. I know its a controversial subject, but my SW had the same initial dimpling and it did eventually even out.

I own a TSPP i bought nib in 2004. As a test, i removed the apron and dropped a ball from 5 inches. Did the same test on Stranger things, JP2LE, BM66, and SW. guess what, nearly identical dimpling. I also have a Huo TZ that I am the second owner of. Same test, same result. I have come to the conclusion that the color of the pf has alot to do with it. Additionally, the new led lighting seems to amplify the effect.

Anymore, I look at the dimpling and it makes me smile. It represents all the fun my family And I have had playing the game. I look at playing it enough to make it even out as a goal like continuing to best the grand champion score.

Quoted from ZMeny:

These are the frustrating assumptions that make pinball difficult to be a part of sometimes.

100% agree. 10% of pinside’s membership is comprised of whiny negative individuals that bring 90% of the negativity. I sincerely wish this miserable toxic 10% would go away and/or find a different hobby.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

You hold the keys to their destruction buddy! Just have to push the button. Haha

Lol! I know, I know.

Quoted from choochoobob:

Not sure what sweetheart deal you got from your friend Mr. FlipNOut, but I don't think it requires you to pretend like everything is rainbows and unicorns chuckwurt.

You are making some fairly bold accusations for which I have 100% first hand knowledge of that you are wrong. Perhaps an apology and retraction are in order.

Chuckwurt and Zach are good dudes that do a ton to promote this hobby. What do you bring to the table?

Quoted from kermit24:

So, you have 4 posts on Pinside. 3 of the 4 are bashing zmeny. I see who has the agenda.

We all need to start using the moderation button to report these trolls. They have become a cancer to pinside.
