I’ve been a big fan of the show for years and think this should be the next pin to my collection. Looking for a premium and my distributor doesn’t know if and when they will do another run. Does anyone have any insight to Sterns manufacturing and know if I have a chance of getting NIB? Even if it is 6-12 months away. I just got my JP so I don’t mind waiting. Thanks for any info!!

Quoted from NightTrain:

I’ve also heard premiums are done.

Damn that stinks. Will have to keep my eye on used market. Thanks everyone. Fingers crossed anyway but won’t hold my breath.

So after waiting patiently for possible new builds of premiums, I gave up and bought a NIB Pro about 2 months ago. Love it. Goes great with my lineup. Just wanted to say thanks to all you fellow Pinsiders and this forum. While I’ve gotten pretty good with the shots here, my Demogorgan was nearly impossible to get the mouth shot. (Maybe 1 out of 25 shots with a ton hitting the glass on the bounce). We’ll I took people advice and removed the 2 black washers under the assembly. BAM! Almost perfect when I hit a dead center shot. I hit the first 4 out of 6 shots. (2 where my fault shooting wide). Makes the game flow better. I would always have to pound the Demo 5 times to move on. Now I can kill it and move on from the mode. Thanks everyone! Still looking for a Premium if anyone in the NE wants to move theirs or trade!!!

Easily my favorite Stern, and perhaps favorite pin at the moment.
Will also be my next mod set. About 1/3 through the design currently, and it aims to be a cohesive world-under-glass set, rather than individual mods.

Sign me up on your list already!!!!!! Thanks

Quoted from SonOfaDiddly:

i'm really nervous about what happens to the game's value if/when the projector bricks. i kind of want to keep it forever but i also kind of want to sell it before 5k gets knocked off the value because of that damn projector

I have seriously debated this. I have a pro and really want a premium. What really happens when these projectors run their life expectancy?? Stern can’t get common parts now. What happens on a special order projector. Without the projector, the premium would be worthless in my opinion. What are peoples plans?

The archived section for Stranger Things always said “Sold Out”. This is nothing new

Quoted from LeMansFan:

FWIW, I sold off my Deadpool premium to order my Stranger Things premium. I personally thought Deadpool was tedious and I got bored with it.

I have both. Deadpool is a fun game with great callouts and satisfying shots. I complete agree the game is repetitive. Shoot the scoop and battle. After defeating all enemies…. Do it all again. (Repeating shots is STh is similar with the fan layout though too). I personally gravitate more towards STh as I like the Demogorgan Modes and I feel there are more “side quests”. Can’t go wrong with either but my personal opinion is STh is more fun.

Why does no one mention their distributor?? I’ve been on my distributors list for 2.5 years and I haven’t heard anything!!

Quoted from chuckwurt:

You didn’t mention yours either.

lol. Well played. I didn’t say mine because I didn’t get the blessing yet!! Ha. Anyway I’m with Automated….. patiently waiting!

Automated delivering my Premium to NJ today!! Nice surprise call last night!! Merry Xmas to me! Sold my pro two months ago….. missed the pin terribly!

#19352 4 months ago

Just got mine set up from a December 8th build. Demo is much easier to shoot than my previous pro. TK lock is very consistent. The third ball I had minor issue with in one game. The slings are stupid powerful. I may need to turn them down. Game plays fast. Playfield clear to me looks a little thin but no ribbing anywhere. Overall I’m pretty happy with another NIB purchase. Thanks Automated!!

Quoted from P1nhead:

I bought my topper and uv kit when they released.
So all these years later when I finally have the machine, I was surprised to see my ramp uv brackets were not threaded.
Not a huge issue because every man should own a tap and die set. Hopefully stern checks their machining before sending out the newly made uv kits.

My early edition Pro UV kit was also not threaded. I had to borrow my buddies tap set and get threads in the aluminum so the screws would work. Hoping my new Premium set is correct when they finally make them.

Quoted from trilogybeer:

If a component from the UV kit was not threaded and it came without thread cutting screws, then yes either the item should have been threaded or the kit should have included thread cutting screws. I was just trying to make people aware of the fact that some items from Stern will come without threads and thread cutting screws will be needed. Flipper base plates and shooter housings are two examples of Stern items that require thread cutting screws.

When all of my slots came threaded but one of them, I don’t think that was Sterns intent. I was able to find the correct tap size by gauging the other threaded slots. It’s bad quality control by Stern.

This morning I went to install my shaker…… they installed the braided ground right over top of the right side holes….. and the Stern OEM shaker cover is squeezed in so tight because they didn’t box out the coindoor symmetrical with the 1/2” wood trim. Plus I’m missing the little bronze/copper playfield guides on inside of cabinet…… that’s all I noticed …… so far

Quoted from Mackpinzie:

My premium kit from Flip N Out arrived without the hole as well. Awesome....

Mine too. Hopefully Stern clarifies and replaces to the correct one. Again…… Quality Control is lacking.

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

All right... how do you test the UV lights. Sterns instructions don't map to reality and I can't fund it. Trying to test my install before zip tying. Thanks!
Answered my own question... you have to enable the feature in the menu before you back out and test it.

In the Setting Menu under ST, you can find a way to test the left and right UV light bars
