Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

So I've had the two lights under the left flipper that have been flickering since I got the machine. A while back Stern sent me new bulb sockets so I could replace them. Now that I have the machine apart I can see why they are flickering. They are pressed up against the wood so the full vibration from the playfield is hitting them. Now my question. How in the devil am I supposed to replace those staples? Is there a special tool for that? It must be really powerful as I don't think any of my staple guns could penetrate the playfield. Let alone get them anywhere close to where the staples need to go. These must be some of the first things populated on the playfield when they are building them. [quoted image]

Swap bulbs from the top side of playfield. They are probably good bulbs just not a great connection.

So I did the alligator clip test and flipper was still weak
I disassembled the flipper mech and rebuilt it
still weak
My flippers were set at 195 for each and machine has been playing great including making the ramp shot on to the mouth.
I upped the right flipper power to factory setting of 255 and the flipper is playing better.
the left is still at 195
they both seem to be at the same power in terms of force.
Do you think its a weak coil?

You could swap coils to figure that out.

Sometimes when the Demogorgon shot is lit and ready, when the shot is hit it doe not register. I remember reading something awhile back about this. Has there been a fix for this yet? I have a PRO.

Quoted from BallyKISS1978:

Some shots are not registered on my pro. It’s ok for me, still love this game so much !

Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

no fix, happens to me a lot. I've reported it to Brian Eddy at Stern along with a number of other issues around the demogorgon. Hope they do fix it.

Well I just may have found a tweak that will help with the demogorgon failed shots. On my machine when I was in test mode I noticed the Demodog targets in the middle, if hit just right seems to be activating like spinner hits, multiple shots registered with one hit, and then a center lane shot in the middle of all of them. Must be confusing the software. Closer introspection the targets seems to bounce like they are on a spring. If the target switch is sensitive it creates multiple hits. Also the foam backing didnt seem to help much like it should. I added another piece of foam, and made the switch less sensitive. Seems to have helped fix this issue on my game.

Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

On my machine there are a number of switches that are doing that. I sent Stern a switch test video where I showed clearly one hit registering as several while activating the switch with my fingers. The optos are also doing the same thing. I've adjusted the switches as well to no difference as I don't think it's a mechanical issue. None of my other stern machines have this switch test problem so not sure what it could be. I've swapped node boards on Sterns suggestion without any change in behavior. Same switches are doing it.

That is very odd. They didn't suggest trying a different CPU?

I joined the club a month ago with a nice Stranger Things pro. I am really liking the game, even more than I expected. With the UV kit and Cleland's mod, for me it has some of the best lighting effects and sound/music of any game I've played.
I am now debating upgrading to a premium (would need to trade my Tron pro) . I know it has been discussed here on occasion but I would be interested in getting owners thoughts on if the premium is worth the upgrade?... maybe a little unofficial weekend poll .

After owning the pro for over a year, and never playing the premium, I finally played one a few weeks ago. Pretty much plays identical. Locks are harder, the screen looks like a washed out projector from the 80's. I was not impressed at all with the premium. And I am not a Pro only guy, I have bought pro's before and upgraded, its not going to happen on this title. Actually I think I have had my time with the game and will be selling off soon for something else.

Quoted from Utesichiban:

So what is a good price for a premium? Also, what is the swipe a ball feature?
Is it a game people think will br collectible over time like Tron has become?

Season 4 is going to be the last season, in 20 years no one will know what the hell stranger things even is. IMO

Quoted from Svenop:

Dealer talked me out of a premium. Was told it just looks bad in the game room when off and the TK lock gave them trouble. Stranger Things Pro was top 3 for her. This will be my first pro

This makes no sense. If the game is off who cares? It's off. No game looks good off. Turn the damn thing on if your in the game room.

Do people actually hang out and look at their games while they are off?

I finally understand why someone has a game 4 years and 25 plays on it. You all just be hanging out looking at your games while they are off.

Quoted from lifefloat:

So........I'm having an issue with my new machine.
The screen ramp does not always fully retract after a demogorgon battle. It goes up high enough for a ball to travel under the ramp and then stops. Going down no issues.
Switch test fine.
If I have the playfield in the fully upright position, the ramp operates smooth enough to do its thing up and down. If the playfield is down the ramp will not lift fully.
It seems like there is excessive friction at the bronze flanged bearing that the motor cannot overcome. Like something is slightly tweaked. If I give the ramp a little finger nudge on the way up it goes up smoothly. Not sure what I'm gonna have to take apart to make this thing run smoothly.
Has anyone else had this issue?

Okay so mine was doing the exact same thing out of box. Not sure if you issue will be the same, but the arm underneath the playfield was hitting on the target switch that is on the left side behind the drop targets. I was able to just use some pliers and bend it away from the arm. No problems since. Hope this helps.
