Hello,
New to the club. Unfortunately, the center ramp is only going about 30% back up from the Playfield. It goes down fine, but won’t go back up all the way? In test mode it does the same thing. However, if the Playfield is in the upright position and I test it in test mode, it goes up and down fine? It’s almost like gravity helps it go back up when the Playfield is standing upright. Does the motor maybe need lubricant? Thanks for any help.

I figured it out. The ramp hinges just needed a tad bit of lube. All good now!!

Anybody know of any UV kits out there for sale? Thank you!

Quoted from Krupps4:

Soooooo, since there is all this talk about the topper. What do those that have it think about it? Is it super cool? Average compared to other Stern toppers? Above average? It’s hard to tell without seeing it on the pin in person.

I’ve never seen it in person, but I heard during telekinesis multi-ball, the topper floats 3 feet above the machine.

If you can get a prem at a good price it's a no brainer IMHO. But, otherwise, the pro is fine.
I agree that the projector is the biggest difference, but I do greatly enjoy the dialed in tk lock mech and the swipe a ball feature.

What’s the “swipe a ball” feature?

Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

As a home user I have no desire to spend money on this for any of my games. I can see why ops would want it for the easy access to data but none of the op features are in the first version from what I've read. Could not care less about the achievement features.

You may change your mind when Stern starts putting downloadable content out there like new modes, features, etc. This could enhance our pins a great deal. However, it won’t be free. I’m all for it. If you want the content, get it. If not, don’t.

Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

If they start sticking new modes and game features behind a paywall with an app I'll never buy another stern game. The rumored price increase will likely cause me to cancel my aiq premium order as another 1k is not what I agreed to when I ordered all those months ago and I don't want this app connected feature. These are not $60 Xbox games but 6-9k pinball machines.

This is EXACTLY what Stern is going to do. They are very smart and know there is A LOT of money on the table with downloadable content. Whether you choose to participate or not, it’s gonna happen and they will make a lot of money. Xbox and PlayStation have proven the model works and it works well. The nice thing is, you don’t have to buy in if you don’t want to. I will likely pick and choose things I really like or maybe I won’t like any of it. Only time will tell.

Quoted from Ive:

Be interesting to see if this ever happens. How much time and resources do Stern have to throw at each title ? Personally not a fan of ongoing content ….. just make a great game with finished code from the start.

Stern will put plenty of time into offering downloadable content for each title because they will make money. A lot of it.

I was thinking about changing the two rubber posts out under the main screen to colored post rubbers. However, if it’s too much hassle, I’m not gonna do it. Any thought on that?

I ordered my topper from pinball life on Monday and received it today.

#12407 2 years ago

So, I just installed my topper and everything works, but LCD display is not coming on? I disconnected the topper and the LCD display is not working still? Not sure what could have happened? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

#12409 2 years ago

Everything else is working fine, except LCD display. It’s so weird. I was very careful and no plugs were knocked loose. Not sure what happened.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Bend the gate out so it sits flush with that ball guide or just past it. Fixed it for me.

Mine was getting stuck there as well. I bent the gate up and now no issues. Good luck.
