New to pinside (just acquired Stranger Things Premium a few weeks ago). At 45 years old, this is my first pinball machine since I was young (had a '67 Bally "The Wiggler" in our home when I was a teen). Needless to say, this game is awesome.

I would love to get some feedback from some of you more experienced players in regards to what in-game options you've changed from the default setup. I'd like to feel like I have it set up in a way that I can measure my scores against what I see posted. Not sure if certain adjustments would be considered standard vs cheating in some way (adding time, balls, etc.). If this has already been discussed in depth, please just direct me to the right page/post. Thanks!!

Thanks guys, great to get a feel for what others are doing with those settings. I figured that most would likely be kept somewhere close to stock with a little variation one way or the other. Really appreciate all the valuable input on this thread!

Quoted from Waxx:

Next time do the Dayton Audio 10 or better yet 12. Cost less and sound better than the PSW10.

edit: the psw10 was fine when it was $70 but it's under powered and muddy for current prices.

How hard is it to connect a subwoofer to the game, and is it a worthwhile addition? What other parts are needed? Should I be considering replacing the other speakers or is this not necessary? Haven't tried anything like this previously. Appreciate any input here.

Quoted from chuckwurt:

You’re not replacing anything, you’re adding a powered sub to underneath the game. Totally worthwhile. You can get a pinnovators kit for spike 2 for 15 bucks that allows a aux to rca connection you can run from the back board in the head through the game out the bottom to hook into the sub.

Awesome, sounds easy enough. Thanks for the help!!

Quoted from PinMonk:

Yeah, people commonly seem to think that the cabinet speaker is a subwoofer, when it's just a plain woofer. So a subwoofer would be a complement to this, not a replacement for it.

Cool, thanks, it had me fooled.

And this is the recommended sub connector kit for Stranger Things?:
