Is there a quick and easy write-up of what all needs to be removed to be able to raise the height of the demogorgon?

I've seen a few posts (and checked the pinned posts) and it seems like there's a semi complicated web of plastic surrounding all of those mounting points, which the posts I've seen don't address.

Quoted from TheBeefSupreme:

Ha I promise you I have spent a long time going through that search. I hate to be a pain. I found plenty about the fix but just wanted some guidance on how to get to it out so I could do so. I appreciate the help. Im assuming these are the two bottom nuts at least. They seem to be holding the plate. I’ll see if I can get it. Thanks![quoted image]

Am I crazy, or does the whole left ramp need to come out to get the Demogorgon out for adjustment? Seems like this one screw on the top side is buried under a LOT. What the fuck is it even there for?

Tried searching - getting too many irrelevant hits.

How do y'all adjust the Demogorgon successfully without disassembling and reassembling the whole upper left PF multiple times?

#14148 2 years ago

Finally feel like I've got a grasp on how this thing works and what's needed. Appreciate the help, folks! ❤️

Quoted from blizz81:

The left ramp pretty much sits on the metal ball guide below and within two weeks out of box / less than 50 plays was already cutting into the underside of the ramp. I put some thin metal tape on the guide and it seems like it hasn’t gotten any worse.
Was an issue with others in the thread but generally took more time to come to light.

Is there a specific product you used? Or is it for a certain application? (i.e. Is it something I can grab at a normal Ace or Lowes? And what section would I want to look in?)

#14150 2 years ago
Quoted from blizz81:

I found it back in some dryer appliances section, it wasn't in the aisle lowes.com said it would be at my store (Hell, it still says "Aisle 809", I've yet to find the other 750 or so aisles above 50 to get anywhere close to the 800s). https://www.lowes.com/pd/3M-2-5-in-x-30-ft-Pipe-Wrap-Tape/1002947426
I loosened the ramp assembly but was able to get by without fully removing it. Put two layers on.
[quoted image]

Awesome, thanks! I ended up trying electrical tape on that part of the guide, but if that doesn't hold up as desired I'll track some of that stuff down.

#14185 2 years ago
Quoted from Pot8er:

Noticed the same thing on mine and just emailed stern to see if I could get a replacement sticker. Picked up some aluminum HVAC tape from wal mart to do the same as you. Which screws on the ramp did you loosen? It looks like the two at the front of the ramp are screwed directly into the playfield which makes me kinda nervous to unscrew them. First time owner so I’m still trying to get the “working on my expensive machine” jitters out.
[quoted image]

Definitely easiest if you remove those screws at the front of the ramp going into wood, as well as the screws going into metal posts.

As disassembly goes, that's pretty negligible. Just don't go absolutely crazy re-tightening them.

#14186 2 years ago
Quoted from Ive:

Are you guys putting the tape on to the ramp underside or the guide , or both ?
This seems a silly question but I like to double check before I end up doing the job twice

I did mine on the metal guide. I believe the original poster of that fix did the same. (I had to re-read the original post a couple of times)

#14187 2 years ago
Quoted from C0untDeM0net:

I've removed the ramps many times. Unless you really crank down on them to strip the holes it's not going to be a problem. It's plywood not composite

Agreed. Further measures are REALLY not necessary on any pin unless someone screwed up (heh heh) and blew out the screw holes.

If they screwed it that hard, they probably fucked up the plastic ramp, too.

Quoted from PinStalker:

Since the show is coming back for season 4 and season 5....... anyone think Stern will do another run as interest peaks?.
Didn't help them the 1st time releasing the pin with season 3 which was the weakest of the three seasons.

Oh man, I liked season 3 more than 2 (tho I've only seen them once or twice each.) different strokes I guess.

I'd trust Chuckwurt assertion that they won't run more because the license has lapsed
