Thanks. I've attached a picture. I'll have to take a look and see what the process looks like on YouTube.[quoted image]

Yikes.

Touch wood , no pun intended, my pro is ok so far .

So decided to play a game during halftime in the Super Bowl and broke my GC score by 500 million! Missed the first TD of the 3rd quarter lol
This game is lots of fun, AFM on steroids

Quoted from chuckwurt:

Less than 5% chance. Zero chance any engineering updates are applied.

Which is really a shame (the engineering updates) because the TK lock is a fundamental part of the game but was engineered by a twelve-year-old. The mechanism is terrible. I'm surprised someone hasn't engineered a plug-n-play aftermarket improved mechanism.

I've thought of taking mine off and giving it to my son for their product design program to look at and give to engineering.

Quoted from Soundkillr:

Today I added a set of flaming speaker lights. I really like the way they look on this game!!

Like it. It goes with the theme of multiple modes on the game.

#17205 1 year ago

the TK lock is a really finicky mech but it is also possible to dial it in so that it works consistently, every time. it takes hours of work, though.

Can someone post a picture with the glow titan rubbers and the uv kit light on? I've only seen pictures on here with normal light and glow titan rubbers.
Thanks!

I had glow Titan - recently swapped to Perfect Play purple / glows neon pink under UV , just for a change.

Line the whole edge with Mylar. It will keep it nice.

Being lazy here and haven’t trawled through the whole thread ……
Is changing the post rubbers either side if the drops straightforward ? Any tips or is it pretty obvious . Looks like some dismantling required.

Quite a bit of dismantling is required to get to those post sleeves. I just started removing things, making a list on a piece of paper of the order I removed things, then when I finally got to the posts (after removing most of the playfield components), I replaced them with long wearing Cliffy post sleeves, as I didn't want to do that all again for a long time, if ever. Also, while I had everything off of the playfield to get to that point, I put a complete set of plastic protectors on. I then reassembled things in the opposite order that I took things apart.

Did you round the mylar over the edge to get the top and inside or just butt up close to the top edge?

Round it over. I cut a rectangle and set at in plane with pf surface, then make a couple of strategic cuts and stretch to fit along lip down into the well.

If you do it correctly you will have full coverage of the transition from top to bottom and ball strike areas and won't be able to see the mylar.

Already fitted when I got the game. I think a guy on the UK scene made them - he does small runs of stuff for the local market.

No. The only worry is at the edge. Make sure it goes past the art, onto the wood, but not into the saucer cutout area.

#17223 1 year ago

Can you provide snapshots of all the different colors under the UV mode?

So kind of replicating Cliffy's protector seen here but with mylar?

What color do they appear like when under normal light? Blue?

I have it on the todo list. I only fitted the red/pink set so far and looks pretty great to me. I have the blue set cut, just need to find time to install it and take some pictures.

We also have the protectors in clear if your main goal is protection. Once installed, they are virtually invisible.

Kinda yea. Your worry is the part where the playfield artwork ends and the wood begins. Put Mylar over that. The Mylar piece will be the shape of a “J” when you make it.

#17229 1 year ago
Quoted from gk_usa:

So this is how i put my mylar around the saucer. As Chuck said, the jinal piece will look a bit like a "J" - below is the procedure I used for making the curve of the "J"

- measure the diameter of the saucer... I think it is 7/8" but double check
- go online and find a template for that diameter circle
- print the template and cut out the circle
- place the template/circle onto the saucer to see where it lines up with the wood on the playfield (The right edge and along the bottom)- mark the points on the circle... this is the area that needs to by mylared
- place the template/circle ontothe mylar with the two marks serving as the edge. Remember you are only concerned with the right edge (about 120 degrees) the rest of them circle/template can, and should have over the edge.(you will cut around them so you can match the diameter of the saucer perfectly).
- use scotch tape and carefully tape the template in place
- cut around the template carefully.
- I only extended the mylar about an inch beyond the saucer mainly because I suck at placing mylar without introducing bubbles. <ake sure to round all of the corners of the mylar, otherwise you will have lift points
- place the mylar as carefully as possible
-done

It seems like a lot of steps, but by far, for me, the trickiest part is putting down the mylar without bubbles. I took me 3 or 4 tries. Keep your circle/template because you can reuse it if needed.

So here is mine. I created a smaller section for the entire inner edge of the saucer. I also created a full cut piece for the saucer trough and a section near the E because wear can happen there as well. I was very care and did a wet install.... And it's almost impossible to see the lines. You have to zoom in. I install vinyl from time to time for a living... So happy to give advice if anyone is looking for it. You should be able to see the lines if you zoom in...

#17242 1 year ago

no

#17243 1 year ago

No, as in yes they are actually running it again?

#17244 1 year ago

no I don't think they will run it again

#17245 1 year ago

They won’t run this game again unless it’s pro only, too expensive for them to produce in my opinion as they’d need extra projectors and the pain for them to adjust the TK lock

#17246 1 year ago

People like to keep their game value high so if they have a premium/LE they are more likely to say they won’t run again…. For what is worth, a respectful pinsider posted on kanedas Facebook post that the next run will be 2024.

#17247 1 year ago
Quoted from Medic:

Why do they think that? I don’t even think stern knows what they are running in 2024 outside of cornerstones, loosely.

#17248 1 year ago
Quoted from Gotfrogs:

I reached total isolation for the first time tonight![quoted image]

I’ve only reached it a few times. First time I didn’t know how. Second time, I did notice that the inserts to the left ramp were flashing in the pinball equivalent of, “Shoot here, dummy.” I thought, “Hmmm. I bet that’ll be something good.” Total Isolation. So fun. “Thanks machine.”

#17249 1 year ago
Quoted from chuckwurt:

Why do they think that? I don’t even think stern knows what they are running in 2024 outside of cornerstones, loosely.

This all comes from Stern wishing Millie Bobby Brown happy birthday on their social media, and they said something like "we'll see you in 2024." The logical interpretation is that Season 5 of the show is coming 2024, but now we have people saying this means Stern is re-running Stranger Things in 2024.
