What I mean by this is that if your flipper bats are adjusted lower the factory alignment holes in the playfield, it will allow you to hit the outer orbit shots easier, but it will make your center and backhanded shots seem weaker. Adjusting the flipper bats up a bit will help balance the overall shots, but it could also make the outer orbit shot a little tougher, especially the toilet bowl shot.
Are the outer shots pretty easy to hit with a lot of power?
Quoted from jfoust:So I tried to set them even with the inlanes. Toilet and bus shots are absolutely flying up the ramps
That is how I have mine set up now and it is definitely playing this way since I brought mine down. Mine were up a bit higher before then and it did make the middle shots to the crane much more easier. Geometry.
You may only want to move them up about the thickness of the flipper rubber, if you cannot find the holes.
If you manually move your flipper bat up, you should see a hole near the end of each flipper bat. Stick a toothpick it each hole and let the flipper bat rest on it once you loosen the flipper prawl.cd79d1f6f4d04386443729ec218010013fe9ccac (resized).jpg
Did you push up on your flipper bats and looked under them? I was not able to see the holes in my playfield until I had by chance run my finger across it. The black on the playfield pretty much had blended in the hole so it made it invisible. I can take some pictures of mine in about an hour when I get home.
Cool. I hope that balanced your shots out more evenly now. I actually need to do the same adjustment to my Junkyard. Yes, moving the flipper bat higher or lower can affect you from hitting a wider range of shots from left to right.
Kind of think about they way you have your body positioned when you play baseball. It would be about the same concept.
Quoted from jfoust:That definitely makes sense. Good to know! On my other games, shooting right up the middle is certain death (Evel and Super-Flite) but it's a must on Junkyard, so I may be a little off on the others and just haven't noticed as much since I avoid those middle targets at all costs!
Look for the flipper bat alignment holes in the playfields. I know I need to adjust my Vector flipper bats too as it also hits softly up the middle compared to the outer shots.
