I'm In the later stages of fine tuning problems with my Dr. Who restore and the Time Expander lock feature seems to be malfunction. It will only successfully lock one ball. Once a single ball is locked in the time expander regardless of what side it lands in ...it will not lock the second ball. The lock light flashes, the optos register scoring and then the solenoid kicks the ball out. Start up game test report shows error with the 5 opto board 71-75 on the second time expander level but they all function properly in switch test mode. I disconnected the opto board showing error thinking it may be related but I still have the fail to lock problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yes all trough switches working, just double checked.

New findings:

If I remove the one locked ball and then place it or another ball in the second available lock hole... the time expander will activate as normal as if it has 2 balls locked. Almost seems as if something is reversed and only allows the system to operate once the 1st lock hole is emptied. This is weird!!

Thanks Rawley this is some great info. This is my first game with optos so it is definitely a learning curve!! I will look into this on friday when I am off

Bad opto board replaced now all is 100%
