This is on my #JP machine. The DMD appears to work fine but some animations have "washed out" looking areas. But this is only on some animations. The rest of the time and even doing a DMD test everything works fine.

Notice the T-REX letters just before they light up. Almost unreadable. There just a faint outline / dim leters.

Notice the Park Renvenue Score screen where the top of the numbers are faded and missing...

So this happens on these two screens all the time but I don't see this issue elsewhere. Any idea? Wouldn't think the DMD is going bad if its just these screens but then I know next to nothing about how these work.

This is just 1 of 20 known gremlins in my game. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like the beginnings of outgassing. Certain shades don't have enough "juice" to be steadily displayed.

Did you try a different display?

Bummer. No I don't have a spare laying around. Thanks, I'll look I'll be adding that to my next order list.

Might want to get a ColorDMD LED screen instead instead of throwing the money away on another plasma screen. That way you're ready when they launch the full-color patch and you just have to download it into the screen. The LED ColorDMDs also use WAY less power.

It will not save a screen that has started outgassing...but you may be able to use it as a tester on this one, or protect your new screen if you go OEM style. For the cheap price, you might wanna pick up a DMD Saver+. I did an install vid for mine, so it quickly shows how you can use the dip switch to light all dots and play with the brightness to see if it is just the "dark pixels" causing your issue....rom code issues seem like a long shot if you only notice it on those two scenes.
