That's factory behavior. Slightly odd to not blank the leading zeroes vs. other makers, but that's the way williams did it until system 7.

That's not going to overcome programming.... system 3-6 games just have all zeroes on the displays, and it doesn't blank the leading zeroes. Nothing to do with the ram.
