    Hi,
I'm running out of space for projects in my basement and I was thinking of storing just the cab of a newly acquired EM in my backshed for the winter (taking out the PF and BG).
    What do you guys think?

It will probably need a cab repaint anyway...

Up here it's well below 0c up until early march and then it goes from -5 to +5 for a while until it settles for the spring.

Wood is still wood. The cabinet may start planking.

I recently pulled a project pin out of a tin shed. No idea how long it was out there--probably at least a couple years. Between the planking and moisture, the cab is pretty much a complete loss.

    Yeah I guess so...
I think you probably never want to do it for a PF or BG because that would render them beyond repair, but if you're going to repaint the cab anyway not that big a deal?
You would have to expect some rust on metal parts though so I guess that would mean removing the cab guts as well...
