I just came across this thread and have lots of questions. While I am happy to do my own research, I do have a few questions if someone would be kind enough to concisely answer and point me in the right direction.

1. Will this work with a Williams Getaway (WPC 1992)? If so, has anyone done one that can share pics & details?
2. Can I buy a kit somewhere that includes all the parts or even the full assembly? If so, where?
3. I'm assuming you colorize yourself? How do you get the DMD source code?
4. If compatible, how does this compare to ColorDMD and reasons to choose this over that?

I'm sure I will have more questions, but these should get me started in the right direction.

I know that people have used PIN2DMD on Getaway HS2, but has anyone colorized frames? If so, do you have video posted somewhere to view, and would you make your customizations available to others?

Quoted from tjc02002:

here’s an example of an animation used in HS2 on a PIN2DMD.

Well, at least it is a still frame of the animation. Here are a few other examples - Full credit to Malenko. FYI, click on an image to see full resolution GIF.

I'm going to be installing a Pin2DMD into my Data East Jurassic Park. Can someone please provide or point me to the installation instructions for the physical DMD (I already know how to do all of the software)? I just want to make sure I get the power connected correctly.

BTW, if you've not seen the JP colorization, it is really nice:

I believe theres a how to on youtube somewhere
Dont have the link but pretty sure

No luck finding anything. Anyway, I can figure out the 12V power, I just didn't know what to do with the DE video board. I've decided that I need to design a platform I can mount to my existing PIN2DMD acrylic frame.

Here is my solution for PIN2DMD on a Data East pin (Jurassic Park, specifically). I designed and 3D printed some 20mm spacers then mounted the DE video board on them. I had to move the power converter, but that was not an issue an all using an existing screw hole. I then aligned the board so as to have clearance for the DMD mounting screws, drilled the 4 holes, and voila!

Now, lets see if I can get it powered and working.

Well, it took some effort to swap the DMDs between my two games, but I must say that the PIN2DMD JP colorization is excellent. I actually prefer it much more than the ColorDMD I had in the pin before. The only issue I had was the colorization not working, then I realized I probably needed to upgrade my firmware (I was on 2.54 and 3.12 is current). Anyway, once I upgraded the firmware the colorization worked perfectly.

Is there a repository of colorization files yet? Cannot find anything.

Not that I'm aware of, but the best place to look for titles is in the VP Universe forums.
