Bought some APPL today. I think it will go lower and I have reserves waiting.

#5525 11 months ago
Quoted from Oaken:

Yeah, but even at most a 50-50 split will mean nothing aggressive gets thru.
Wall Street loves gridlock.
What I find funny is going into the week it was “rally due to big wave meaning lots of stimulus”. Then it was “rally because everything stays the same”. Then it was “rally because gridlock is good.”

I think part of the reason why is because what other options are there for your money right now?

Interest rates suck

Investment real estate with COVID is sketchy at best

Keep it under your mattress- stimulus inflation will possibly get you

Might as well put it in the market where the money is still liquid if you need it.

I have put a good chunk in lately because I don’t know what else to with it.

In this environment probably buying pins is not even a bad option!

Been rolling Walmart for a while now. Not flashy but slow and steady as it continues to push Walmart Plus to compete with Amazon. I read an article where Amazon has 38% of retail online sales and Walmart is second with 5%. I can see Walmart closing that gap, I believe Amazon has lost some of it's ability to service the customer.

#5658 11 months ago

Probably too boring for you guys but Walmart is slow and steady climb.

We will see what the earning report brings tomorrow

I am on the draft king train long term!

Nothing America likes more than some good old gambling.

#5697 11 months ago
Quoted from RojerLockless:

Ah yes I've been in on Draftkings since 14.45 a share. Good times.

Good for you! I bought in the mid 30's. I am on the train long term.

I could see a day where Disney somehow buys draft kings, pairs it with ESPN and then spins it off.

It will take some time but eventually gambling will be legal in all states and there is huge opportunity there.

I bought Capri holdings CPRI on a cheesy pitch from Fast Money show about a month ago, stock is up 55% since then. Also they just set a target for it to double again.

I guess the TV guys do know what they are talking about once in a while.

I love me some Fast Money!!

Quoted from iceman44:

And EQIX. Those have been my two data center REITS
DLR is a better value right now. Brad Thomas has a "buy" on it.

My families company did a large security project for EQIX in 2000. My parents bought some stock than. My dad hadn’t looked at it in many years and found out it was up 6000%. Obviously wish they would have bought more.

#6115 10 months ago
Quoted from iceman44:

Apple up 4% today.
When you are riding Secretariat why would you ever get off of him to jump on some Nag?
For the 100th time. Own Apple and buy more when it goes on sale

Love me some Apple!

#6133 10 months ago
Quoted from iceman44:

FSLY up to $101.38, 6.64% today.
Buyout rumors are still lingering.

I bought on your recommendation yesterday. Solid return for days investment.

#6147 10 months ago
Quoted from athenspin:

Today and Monday should be interesting for Tesla! Price action will be crazy, I wonder how much of a cool down we will see in the weeks that follow after the run up?

My dad bought 10k in Tesla on Wednesday. I told him it was over priced and I wouldn’t do it. He is looking pretty good right now.

We will see how it goes long term.

#6152 10 months ago
Quoted from athenspin:

Lots of innovation coming down the pipeline, who knows in 3-5 yrs these prices could look cheap! It’s my largest position, at this point I only nibble on dips.

My dad is not a day trader. He is on his third Tesla and believes in the company long term.

I was making some other investments and told me just to throw 10k into Tesla.

Even with the financials there are some very strong believers in the company.

Bought some PSTH and GM today. No crazy amounts like some of you guys. But figured I would take the flyer on PSTH. I am usually super conservative.

#7032 8 months ago

PLTR!!!!

I am going to buy Ice a beer!

#7298 8 months ago

Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I am learning.

AMCX has the large short interest. Wouldn’t that be the stock Reddit group would be targeting.

AMC I don’t see the short interest. They did receive almost a billion bucks in financing and the stock is up 86% today.

Are people getting confused of which AMC has the short interest (trying to replicate GME)
Coincidence? AMC long play for reopening? Seems like a large jump for that?

#7301 8 months ago

This is what I pulled up.

#7449 8 months ago

I bought some shares of AMC yesterday real low and reloaded today.

Feel like I am at the roulette table in Vegas "all on red!"

#7477 8 months ago

AMC seems to have somewhat stabilized. The shit seems to be blowing up after hours. Will very interested to see what happens this after noon.

#7558 8 months ago

My dad just pumped in a couple grand to both NOK and AMC. How long will this ride last and who is going to get caught holding the bag?

#7665 8 months ago

All on red.

I am going to hold on to AMC and NOK. Not large positions.

It will be a good lesson if they get hammered.

Let’s see where it goes.

#7674 8 months ago
Quoted from robertmee:

GME, BB and AMC all dropping big time.

It’s just a blimp!

#7700 8 months ago
Quoted from DBLM:

Yes. 10K shares. Not selling at this time.

I like it!!!

#7728 8 months ago

No matter how this ends, my wife is now researching stocks like no other.

I would bet the crazy continues for a bit.

#7729 8 months ago

Does sound insane to enter a small position in GME before Friday?

#7905 8 months ago

I am just going to hold AMC and NOk long term. I don’t have much invested.

Let’s see what happen.

#8237 8 months ago

I think I am buying GME tomorrow as an FU!

#8251 8 months ago
Quoted from DBLM:

I have spent most of the day trying to figure out the angles on AMC right now and the answer is there are none. There is not enough short interest to make it hold now, and the price got too far depressed. You still have the Silverlake backstop in the 13s, but that could have already been sold for all we know. You have to figure it will get halted a few times tomorrow based upon people rushing in which disrupts momentum upwards. You might can trade around the edges, but I don’t think you are going to get a big enough run to do damage. With them changing the game today, it broke my thesis. I still am concerned about them issuing new stocks to cover their 17% note from last weekend, and this might be as good as any time since the stock is high. That would make thr shares drop. I am going to sleep on this and see if I can come up with any answers. Anybody else got any thoughts?
I should just stick to selling software, posting gifs, and drinking bourbon.

Me too. But I am still holding!

#8330 8 months ago
Quoted from KornFreak28:

Or make you lots of money

I just bought a couple shares as well. The float sure doesn’t seem to coming down.

#8357 8 months ago
Quoted from DBLM:

I broke my rule and bought 1,000 shares of AMC A) to recoup some of my losses on a trade yesterday and B) Fuck all of these fucks that are trying to restrict trades. For you speculative types, I bought Golden Nugget (GNOG) to hold for a while. This is what my LCA call this summer became. I know a few of you traded LCA this summer but I think it flew under most of your radars. Big fan of Tilman Fertita.
Broker and I had a good call this morning and we are converting my non core positions to some managed programs that they are doing. Not going to the extent of investingdad because there are some core positions that we like and I love gunslinging, but this is where a lot of where my guy is converting his clients to. The past few days have highlighted some deficiencies and issues in the system so this is just recalibration.
Again, not investing advice. If you need bourbon advice, I can help you there (Hint: Dont fall for the Buffalo Trace family of product bullshit. Overhyped and over priced. Honestly, we should all just drink good Tequila).

I am holding strong AMC and adding to GME.

My buddy is a huge whiskey guy. Try some Russell's reserve or Jefferson's Ocean. Those are the reasonably priced ones he recommended. I usually just drink BL

#8401 8 months ago

Where is ICE?

When would you say APPLE is on sale?

Looking to double dip.

Profits from GME and AMC.

And also buy APPL and PINS on the dip.

#8586 8 months ago
Quoted from robertmee:

Yeah, they've been pressing that all week, but the message got lost in all the AMC/NOK/BB/NAKD/SNDL pumps. I bought a small stake in NOK and will probably do the same with BB, only because I believe they have long term prospects. AMC looks to survive another year, but I believe their price is going to drop next week...not enough shorts for a squeeze. I would only play the volatility of AMC right now, but not look for it to 'shoot to the moon'.

I am going to bail on AMC at some point probably. I just don’t see enough squeeze potential. I don’t have a lot of shares so I am not too worried about losing on it, if I don’t get out in time.

NOK I bought and will hold because I think it has long term potential.

I bought GME Friday and I still think it may go up significantly.

#8728 8 months ago
Quoted from Oaken:

I loved ask Jeeves.
God I feel old

One of the original founders of ask Jeeves was my parents neighbor during the time of the IPO. They thought they were going to the moon!

#8897 8 months ago

GME, AMC, and NOK were never a 50/50 proposition. I went in full knowing the odds were it would tank. But with the opportunity for it to go big was there as well.

I still think it was worth the shot.

#9015 8 months ago

I think the squeeze would have worked without intervention from the brokers.

It was pretty much weak sauce!

#9070 8 months ago

So is PINs going to be a sell the news story tomorrow?

#9081 8 months ago
Quoted from iceman44:

It could be. If you read the write up I posted it seems PINS is in the catbird seat with e-commerce, search and ad spending trends
It takes years for the story to play out and PINS is in the “early innings “
I use the site every day
Buying more Apple again on its earnings report and projections. Most analysts are still in the dark ages on how they value Apple and the multiple recurring revenue streams they are dropping into the ecosystem
But it’s good to see PINS hit a new high. If Google saw ad spend explode it’s hard to believe it didn’t happen on PINS

I just bought more Apple as well. Gambling is fun but with real money got stick to the strong and steady.

#9098 8 months ago
Quoted from DBLM:

Anybody rolling with Draftkings (January 6) and Golden Nugget (January 29)? Up 21.7% and 8.2% respectively.

I am a huge proponent of Draft Kings. I have decent position I am going to continue to grow. But it is pretty volatile but i guess nothing is as volatile as GME and AMC. LOL

#9182 8 months ago

Holy hell... figure i'd drop in, and over 2K comments since my last visit in a couple weeks.. wow!

#9615 8 months ago
Quoted from KornFreak28:

Rookie question: Why do some stocks keep moving even after "after-hours" trading is over? Are other markets in other countries trading and moving the stocks? I just noticed this with OGI. It was over 7 when the bell rang, then it dipped to 6.50.

After hours trading goes until 5PM PST. Other markets also start in the early hours.

#9753 8 months ago
Quoted from iceman44:

Tailwinds? More like a hurricane force winds
Don’t fight the Fed. They are all in still and not worried about sustained inflation per Powell this week
Fiscal policy. Yes more wasteful spending is coming but the equity markets love it for now. And we still have the lag effect of last years $2.8 trillion money dump
Tax policy will remain favorable.
Trade policy? Game on again with China
Bonds? The only asset class in a real bubble.
Since 2018 $300 billion has actually come out of equities and $1 trillion has gone into Bonds.
Barbell approach? EPD, MGM and MAR a few of my favorites!
What to watch? That 10 yr treasury rate. If it starts rising quickly again that will
Cut growth stocks off at the knees!
Value and cyclicals need to be in the mix and a bigger piece as that rate rises
Just my take at the moment
Make sure you know where those safe ports in the face of a storm are

YAY! Ice is back.

#9755 8 months ago

I have about 100K to play with between now August. I am usually long term investor. Any thoughts on short term play. I am willing to take some risk but not all on red kind of risk. Any thoughts?

#9801 8 months ago

Ice are you still adding Pins on dips?

What will be your tipping point of over valued?

I want to add more, but don’t want to get to crazy. I was late to the game on this.

Thanks,

Mike

Always think I should have bought more PSTH.

#9914 8 months ago
Quoted from iceman44:

Agreed, it might even take a week or two to settle down price action wise. Mongo MDB is my favorite post lock up story. I don't own it anymore personally, yes for my clients, but i was buying in the mid to high 30's back in late 2017 on a pullback from $45 or so.
Then Motley Fool recommended it around $50 and the rest is history, or i guess still being written at $410 a share
1.38% is BIG resistance on the 10 yr treasury as it just hit 1.30% for the first time in over a year.
Rick Santelli had a chart that showed a double bottom from 2012 and 2016 at that 1.38% and thinks it's a key level.
I think it's just beginning a move to 2.0%
Short the TLT has been and should be a great trade.

Ice,
Do you still see a bit of pull back in March? I funds sitting on the sideline and am wondering if it is go time yet?

Thanks

Bought more PLTR, PINS abs DKNG today. We will see what happens

#10501 7 months ago
Quoted from DBLM:

DKNG just hit an all time high.

I am huge believer in DKNG. Once gambling is legalized in all states look out.

#10519 7 months ago
Quoted from nwpinball:

I doubt gambling will be legalized in all states, many states have signed deals giving native tribes exclusive gambling rights over the past couple decades, native casinos have become a big builder for jobs and income for the tribes and those states via taxes, there would have to be a big financial incentive to legalize gambling nationally and somehow compensate those tribes for the massive loss in income.

I disagree, the states need money. Way to get money is legalize gambling. It is just a matter of time. The amount from native casinos is nothing compared to the massive amounts of tax revenue that can be generated. Look at New Jersey as an example.

#10532 7 months ago
Quoted from Mad_Dog_Coin_Op:

I don’t see states like Utah getting on that bandwagon.

You can keep Utah and just give me CA! Lol

#10540 7 months ago
Quoted from mtp78:

Take a look at ELYS, flying under the radar. Has exposure in Europe and Canada. Ready to break into the US market. New CEO and a huge gambling upside.

Thanks I will take look.

#10757 7 months ago

I have been losing my ass. But I am cool with it. I am new to investing in the market and just learning. I knew I got in with things over valued but I am running the marathon not the sprint. Abs this giving me an opportunity to get in at better pricing.

Plus without the pandemic I would probably would have just spent this money on hookers and blow in Vegas anyway!

#10858 7 months ago

I am reloading on AAPL, PINS and DKNG.

Maybe I don't learn my lesson but I think these are all going back up.

#11030 7 months ago

Bought some more PINS and AAPL today. Plan on adding more in the coming weeks. Just waiting on volatility.

Want to add more DKNG but it needs to cool down a bit.

#11131 7 months ago

Here comes GME. I am sitting this one out from the side line. This is probably the day it goes to the moon.

#11135 7 months ago
Quoted from Monk:

I wonder what price you reach the moon. $400/share for a $20/share value seems like it's moonish.

I would concur with that.

#11301 7 months ago

I think I am about to wave the white flag on PSTH. At bout break even level. Any thoughts?

Want more DKNG!

#11994 6 months ago

Quoted from Anubis330:

I'm not the most stock savvy fella so I'm curious to what you think. In my industry the lack of employees has been a concern for the last 10-15yrs. It has gotten to the point where I can offer good wages, 10k in bonuses, $500 clothing allowance, health care, profit sharing (last year was %15) and a newly remodeled 2 bedroom apt rent and utility free and still no one to hire. Thus, I'm thinking about cashing out. I can put 6mil in the bank after taxes. I'm 45 and my house is paid for, I have zero debt and live in Ohio which is inexpensive compared to most of the country. What are your thoughts . Fyi, If I walk away I would prefer not to work any longer. What are your thoughts???

U have kids? I am in similar circumstances but with young children living in California I will be working for the man (which is me) for the foreseeable future.

We sold one of our family businesses in 2018 and it was the best thing we ever did for our family.

But if we sold the other, even with the kind of sale price we could receive, I am concerned about being financial stable long term and taking care of my children. I think living in California has a lot to do with my concern.

Please keep us updated. I am interested in what decision you make and how it turns out.

I have mad props for anyone that pulls the plug. Everyone I know just bitches about it and does nothing.
