I'm pulling for you @sataneatscheese. But averaging up on a company that is falling?

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

I doubled down on CCIV yesterday. Merger to complete by end of June. Do your own due dilligence but anything under 35 seams reasonable and if it dips under 30 I would think it was a steal. I have been holding since 23 and averaged up to 30 yesterday a bit too early. I thought it would have bottomed out by now. I don't know where this will bottom out now. If I were looking in from the outside, I would wait until the first green day, then buy the day after.

This might be a dumb assumption, but I'm still rather green about all of this. But as I read the valuation, basically CCIV only owns 8% of Lucid, and per that ownership amount and vaulation, along with the PIPE stock options at around a $15 per share cost, doesn't this mean that the "bottom" on CCIV is probably a lot closer to that $15 per share? Everything I've read, I am not seeing where there is any value much above that. The 11.75 $Billion valuation would put the stock at most at around $20 valuation per share. Maybe the stock is higher because of the hope that there will be a higher value in the future based upon the LUCID dream? I don't know, to me it feels like it's banking very heavily on a completely unproven auto manufacturer who hasn't delivered a single car, and is behind many other players in an industry that sees far more companies fail than succeed?

Or am I just being cynical?

That makes sense.

Sold my RRGB (190%) and L (78%) holdings today. They were never long term holds so I am happy with it.

Still holding a few other "in the ditch" stocks like AAL, CCL, UAL but may offload those soon as well.

Quoted from Hench4Life:

My brother and I have two vacation rentals. For us it's good good because it's a lot more passive than long term rentals (unless you have a management company). However, we aren't generating much cash flow now, as both houses have mortgages. There is a pretty good FIRE thread going, I know several of the active posters have rental properties, might want to bounce that question over there to keep this on topic..

Can you send a link to that thread? I'm struggling to find it.

Thanks!!

PSTH2 (edit registered not filed) so....deal soon for PSTH?

#10357 3 years ago

I am taking a bath pretty bad on the CCIV I bought yesterday. I will keep an eye on it and probably double my position when it seems to bottom out; try to make some of my money back.

I still feel pretty good on it but don't know where it will bottom out. I think it will hit $28 before $38. My cost average is about $30 now.

Fisker (FSR) is on the move!

I ended up selling 1/3 of my shares when it got over $60 to cover my initial investment. The other 2/3s I consider free stock and will sit on it for a long time. My average is $21/share. I think it has some more to drop. $15/share for PIPE. Private investors are getting hosed. I think at it's present valuation, shares should be worth around 30-40.

I FOMO at a $69 basis. But I set a stop loss this time.

AMC has made moves today too

I will not go back in on GME no matter what. I will not go back in on GME no matter what. I will not go back in on GME no matter what.

#10371 3 years ago

Knew I should have kept those 200 I bought Friday at $42. Sold them Monday at $46.

#10372 3 years ago

And REDDIT.COM is down. Strange

#10373 3 years ago

Tdoc meet penalty box.

Love the company long term and has been nice to sell these covered calls to cushion the drop. Size of the drop was a bit beyond my expectations. It just ran too far too fast in my opinion.

#10374 3 years ago

I tried to sell at $190 but I had a stop order I placed before the close of the day. I can't cancel after hours so I can't sell. Nooooo

This GME thing is crazy! Why the big jump?

It is a rinse & repeat thing. The new shorts are being squeezed. A very dangerous game.

Can you short the same number of shares you are long? Then you can close both positions tomorrow.

I'm on TD. It's fallen enough that I'm not interested in selling now.
Live and learn with stops i guess. Hopefully it goes bananas tomorrow with all the press its getting again. I need some serious FOMO to boost it

Just like I will never, EVER buy stock on margin again.

TDOC is down to 236 after hours. Lower than expected Q4 earnings.

Meme stocks all going nuts after hours. GME, AMC, NOK, BB, SNDL.

Lol...to the moon! I also held BB and NOK. Only sold SNDL when it crossed $3. Portfolio is all green today.

If you can make $100 a share in one day, no one would complain about that!

#10387 3 years ago

I haven't been in CCIV, but given the volatility, I ended up selling a number of put contracts at at a $30 strike price for April. Mainly a volatility play with the large premiums, if price levels, as volatility reduces there may be profit potential. Also still watching AMC and the three cruise lines I invested in well over a month ago.

#10388 3 years ago

I already took my bath on GME and AMC. I’m not falling for that one again.

Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

My losses (not really a loss unless I sell) on NOK, NAKD, VIR and AMC are under $500.00 on each. The big 3 cruise line stocks are now all way up for me negating the hype stock bullshit.

Bally (the New Bally-BALY) hit an all time high today. Hate to miss out on more gains there.

I'm quite happy I sold my Tesla last week. Going to buy a swimming pool furnace, outdoor kitchen and California Closet thing among some other stuff. Might pay off a car with .9% interest so I can just have liability coverage saving me quite a bit of cash.

Bought a little bit more in the pre market today. I don't know where the stock will be tomorrow, but I believe that it will be substantially higher between the end of June (deadline for ticker change) and the 1st of September (when first set of CCIV insiders can sell shares). Thats just me though and do your own DD. I'm averaged in at $29.99 per share on the dot. I believe it will be $30 per share, probably closer to $40 per share by June.

#10391 3 years ago

Any Canadians able to trade pre or post market? Seems to be a lot of the price action after hours. Thanks.

#10392 3 years ago

Can someone make PFIZER a MEME stock please!
frickin sold my AMC when it hit $9.20 yesterday, out with a $100 bucks up.

#10393 3 years ago

I closed out all my PLTR positions earlier this week for $834 overall gain on them. Thinking of having another go at it now that it's almost $3 less than where I started.

Also took a stab at TSLA the day before the big fall. Took almost a $2k loss on that one. If I'd held it one more day I actually would have made about $5k gain instead. Too volatile for me. I lose almost every time I try to trade that one from the short or long side.

Bought a bunch of PLTR at $26 yesterday, have limit at $25 for another 100 if it goes there.

Yah I went ahead and jumped in. Bought 1000, but sold 3/5 $26.50 calls for $1.20 each. So I won't lose unless it drops down under $24.50 somewhere (which it very well could).

#10396 3 years ago

Well I used up the rest of my cash on AAPL. All in! Time to turn off the computer and check back in a year or two. All my longs are set. Good luck to you all.

#10397 3 years ago

Sold MAC at 14.60. Bought PLTR at 25.49. Put a limit order at 28 for a little more CCIV.

#10398 3 years ago

hey. have you guys heard of this company called GameStop? I hear the stock is a good buy right now. If you haven't heard of them, maybe you should check it out.

As an aside, am I the only one that has this real time ticker going on in the background all day every day? It's just crazy.

I have Fidelity Active Trader up in the background while I work from home and pull it up every once in a while to see what's happening in the market and with my investments. I don't really do much day trading, but I like to stay up on what's happening and watch the trends that emerge in a stock's behavior over the course of a day or in regards to what's happening in the overall market.
