Yes. 10K shares. Not selling at this time.

Still holding my position.

Ok, we got through a bear trap and the WSB thing. Everybody just take a breath. If you are in on AMC, we closed higher than yesterday (14.61] so this probably bodes well for tomorrow staring in Frankfurt at 4AM. There is talk about AMC on WSB, but a lot of the activity is on stocktweets. I am assuming that you are going to have WSB folks and other short squeezers come out with a vengeance tomorrow. This is not investing advice at all.

Is NAKD the next target

I'm holding on AMC, NAKD, and NOK. It's all a scare tactic. Trying to push people away....

Still holding my AMC, tomorrow should be interesting. As far as price targets I’m in the dark. My cost basis is $6.43 per share, price targets??? How long are people thinking about holding this one? I wanted to be part of the madness and it’s been fun thus far. I bought a Nintendo red tent this evening from a couple guys in their 20’s. While we were loading the red tent they compared the price I paid for the red tent in what they could buy in GameStop or amc stock!! We had an interesting discussion about Wall Street bets. It seems like everybody knows about it!!

I can't wait to watch this market crash like it hasn't done in years. Always good to cash out right before it does. I got all my eggs in the basket I want them in now. Then when it does bottom out, it might be time to buy something again. If anything is left.

That should wake a few people up anyway.

lol. great strategy with another round of 1400 stimulus checks on the way. Where do youthink that'll end up o-dins? Beer and wild womens?

#7709 10 months ago

They can keep printing all the free money they want and send as much as they can my way. I won't even try to stop them. I'll invest in pork bellies or something like that.

Like it hasn't done since last March? When you last posted here and cashed out everything? No need to be jealous of the traders making money here.

I'm never jealous of those making money. Nor does it bother me when then lose a bunch of money. It's the way the markets work. You can win and you can lose.

I had to cash in an annuity of mom's at the time because it annuitized and it hurt. Oh, and they couldn't process it until the day it it hit bottom. And that really hurt. Now, I want to be on the other side of the equation, so I can feel a little better.

And I should have bought oil when they were giving it away.

But I'm no day trader like a lot of you so carry on... I'll save it for when it actually happens.

Holding AMC....hedgefund managers manipulate the market everyday on cnbc. Little guys do it now the big wigs are all up in arms..Whitehouse now says they want to look into the manipulation.....what a joke

#7713 10 months ago

Holding AMC too. Not for any particular reason. I'm just enjoying the rollercoaster.

#7714 10 months ago

I heard Game Stop is also doing pretty well. Who would have known. Might be time to dust off some Circuit City as well.

Fair enough. I’d like to buy cheaper too. I play both short and long equally, but shorting feels dirty sometimes.

#7716 10 months ago

No, I've been watching and this AMC/ Game Stop fiasco is crazy, but also a bit entertaining.

#7717 10 months ago

What's up with NAKD? Is it going hot?

#7718 10 months ago

Total gamble. That could be Wall Street Bets next target. Up big today. Looking to open above $2.00 per share tomorrow.

From Forbes today (article below). One again, no financial advice.
Along with GameStop–which is heading up much of the wild short squeeze–AMC Entertainment is one of the market's most heavily shorted stocks, counting some $730 million in short interest as of Tuesday afternoon, according to data from S3 Partners.

Such a strange world at the moment.

#7722 10 months ago

My investments are pretty damn boring for my retirement accounts. I like it that way, well poised to retire at 55 with a comfortable egg, pension, and ability to carry my health insurance into retirement.

I've got some money I don't mind losing. Too late to get in on gme? Sounds like there will be a dip tomorrow with the hedge funds in a bit of a panic, and then a squeeze on friday with something like 20m shorts coming due.

I dont mind gambling on this, but I dont wanna just throw money away either.

Why would CNBC care about the market? Not doubting you, just trying to educate myself.

Why does the "media" do what it does? They are corrupt and not at all objective. They have their friends and they have their enemies.

#7724 10 months ago

CNBC is owned by NBC which is owned by Comcast who also tries to own the world. That's why they care. It's all about protecting themselves.

Got this message on my Robinhood account. I click on it and the page does not exist. Are they trying to manipulate the average investor like myself?

No, it's the CYA message. They also sent out emails for 'educational' purposes.

As long as you didn't buy them on margin, you have nothing to worry about....

Of course, tomorrow morning when it is hammered again you may not be able to sell...

No matter how this ends, my wife is now researching stocks like no other.

I would bet the crazy continues for a bit.

Does sound insane to enter a small position in GME before Friday?

#7730 10 months ago
Quoted from jorge5240:

If by small position you mean 10 or less shares and you won't be hurt by losing the money, then no. You'd probably want to watch the movement tomorrow and pick a dip during the 12-1pm lunch hour to buy in. And you'd probably want to be watching what happens Friday to decide if you want to exit at some point because it's so high or crashing.

I asked myself this same question when GME was at $20 and didn't do it, then bought at $56 when I realized it was going to go way higher. But I also sold today at $350. I'd be more tempted to invest in the next move like AMC and BB while they are still reasonably priced, when people cash out of GME there will be a tremendous amount of money looking for somewhere to pump next and it will likely be these two and some of the other heavily shorted stocks.

#7732 10 months ago

Yepp, 2500 shares of NOK, just for fun.. Got my money back from AMC, letting the profits ride... If AMC takes off, cool. Good either way. BB was moving to slow for this kind of gamble... and maybe too expensive now for a pile in. Feels like BB is a long bet for WSB. Sold pretty much everything else. Still holding DOC, BYDDY, SVA, FSLY, PSTH, NET. plus above. Down to 5% in, rest cash.

#7733 10 months ago

I've only experienced 2 drops in my life, the rest.. simulated. (Aliens!) Looking forward to the remake by PB.

Haha- so $15 for a share of AMC that lost $33 a share last year seems reasonable? No offense- just crazy times.

It’s pretty tempting. People throw money at it and think it might come back so it’s okay. If you wouldn’t throw that $1k in the fire, don’t throw it at this stuff. This can break at any time and if it trips breakers or cripples a brokerage- you won’t get out. A short squeeze only works if short has no leverage. A stock gets way overvalued- it attracts more leveraged shorts. There will be fireworks this option expiration. People bought a lot of calls. Now they have to accept delivery, or close position. If they close and the call was written by a net neutral institution, they will sell shares they bought to stay neutral. If stock goes down enough, other call writers will sell because no longer need shares. Shorts won’t necessarily have to cover by any set time.
Or GME goes to $3000.. happy hunting!

GME, AMC, NOK... Just gamble stocks right now, everyone is jumping on the train for a ride up, they are hoping AMC and NOK fallow GME because they missed that train. All hype now, it's everywhere you look in the news. Wild, making history. They will be talking about this for years. David vs goliath

Hey guys, I've been following this thread and am really enjoying it. I've learned a ton about pinball from you all, and I would love to learn more about stocks and investing. I'm a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, and I can understand how people might think and behave, but when it comes to investing, I really struggle to understand some of the terms and concepts that are mentioned here.

Any recommendations on where to go to start understanding more? Where would I start?

I appreciate all your advice and seeing the stock recommendations you guys are making. (I'd love to earn enough to get a JP Premium and DP Premium someday.)

Bots are joining WSB and pumping new stocks, don't fall for it.. Best gamble right now is AMC, and NOK might be a last minute pump before reddit went crazy with pumping other stocks. From what I've been told.

I asked my wife today if she's heard about the GME short squeeze going on. She didn't hear much about it, nor understands stock trading, so I explained the whole story.

At the end she shows me her phone with her Robinhood account, which has 1 share of stock worth $300. Coincidentally when she signed up they gave her a free share of GME. She's like "what do I do?!" my reply: "enjoy the ride, it's on the house"

#7746 10 months ago

Be very cautious about others saying things like "the next GME" or "Reddit's next target". These are both false narratives being pushed by shorts right now to try and take attention away from their GME problem. The issue with GME right now is a "once in a lifetime" thing, although the VW squeeze in 2008 was only a little over a decade ago. And reddit users don't "go after" anything. It is a discussion forum, and there is no coordinated attack on anything. It is all out in the open. There have been some pretty darn good DD's posted on there by some very intelligent people, so read up and make your own decision. Calling them a bunch of "gambling kids" is disingenuous at best.

All my money for trading, or should I say, gambling is tied up in crypto right now. I did managed to scrape together a little bit of play money and bought 4 whole shares of GME at $333 and 67 of AMC at $18.44.

If I lose it, I lose it but I think it's going to be one hell of a ride!

#7750 10 months ago

And you all thought I was full of shit!

Although I might change my mind and get out of GME at $500. But it’s so tempting to let it ride to $1,000.

One thing that’s crazy is it has totally dominated all social media, which is a good indicator it’s time to bail. But in this case the short squeeze play makes it different from the usual pump and dump. So I’m thinking maybe I let it ride until Monday and see what happens.

I’m always reminded of how smart I felt selling my Bitcoin at $200 per.
