I have forsale two Klingon Bird of Preys with my custom "no blubs" under wing LED boards:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/interest-check-stng-klingon-bird-of-prey-wing-leds
The wing LEDs replace the incandescent light bulbs on your game and light the underlying Playfeild in a Klingon Red glow and attach to the GI circuit as the original did.

These ships come "bolt on ready" with wire harness included and replaces your current STNG Klingon ship. These are pictures of the actual items for sale. Both come with mounting screws to attach to your existing wireform/bracket.

The first is a DieCast metal Corgi ship. This ship has no built-in LEDs so it will function similar to the original except that it has higher detail and is larger. The underwing leds will illuminate your playfield similar to the one pictured in the thread above.

The next is a Hallmark 1994 Klingon Bird of Prey. This ship is "bolt on ready" and comes with wiring harness. Underwing LED board drives the ship with necessary current limiting to drive all internal-to-ship LEDs. Gun port and engine blink; body of ship lights a solid red (bottom) and white (top). Comes with mounting screw to attach to your existing bracket. Simply unplug your existing ship and plug this one in - that simple.

This ship comes MIOB (Modified, In Original Box/packaging).

Here's an example how the ship should look when installed:

Note: The ship in the picture is similar to the ones above. The ones for sale have stock gun turrets on the wings where-as the one pictured has fiber optic replacements.

Stunning work, John...What a great way to light this up!

#7 9 years ago

I purchased this MOD from John and it's first rate all the way!
I actually had bought the Hallmark KBOP on Amazon some time ago and came across John's progress on his
modded KBOP.
So I sent him mine, he modded it, it came back, installed it and couldn't be happier.
The red glow on the playfield makes the game more lively and easier to see since ST:TNG was from the pre-spotlight era.
Attached is a pic of my modded KBOP in my actual game!

Wow, this is a beautiful mod! Very nicely done and addressing just the right problem as i hate the visible bulbs or LED-bulbs under the wings.

The only really big problem i have is that the light is red. I like LEDs a lot but don't like using non-original colors as it kills the original look of the PF-artwork colors.

I'd be all over this if it was warm white LEDs, or at least white in general.

I've gone with pink in my GI under this ship. I tried purple, but pink actually makes the PF around pop more in purple, and is more towards white for the plastics, if that makes sense.

I also think this is crazy cool, but the solo red colour may only produce a small audience wanting it.
