The blue led bulb in the left nacelle of the Vengeance ship in my STLE game shuts off at times during gameplay. It doesn't seem to be related to anything happening on the playfield, and I can't get it to come back on unless I shut the game off, and turn it back on. It comes right back on once the game is rebooted. I can't seem to remove the bulb either, as it seems to be hot glued in place. No issues with the right blue nacelle bulb, or the similar one at the top of the ship. Any thoughts on what might be causing this and what can be done to fix it? Thanks in advance!

My guess would have been a bad solder joint, but the fact that it always comes back on when the game is rebooted has me stumped.

I think it's a bad solder joint. The game reboot sometimes fixes things.

Where might the bad solder joint be? At the joint between the bulb socket and wire?

Nothing surprises me anymore, but it's hard to understand how the bad solder joint could occur for no reason, then be fixed just by rebooting the game. But nothing else makes sense, I guess...

The factory solder joints tend to be low grade solder with relatively low amounts of solder. My TNG has a loose socket that sometimes makes connection sometimes doesn't. Stern also doesn't have the quality Williams had.

The solder joint is going to be most likely at the lamp socket or the lamp socket itself is bad in which case will need to be replaced or pushed in
