Took this list from an avenger review not really knowing enough about stern quality history. But it scares me to know it could have really been so low at some point. Too many toys forced them to save on base materials?

- Ball trough top welds break
- Non lock style moles connectors on ball trough boards tend to disconnect with vibration
- Broken coil lugs due to thinness
- 555 style GI bulbs which fall out instead of 44/47 style with bayonet
- Wire gauge thickness 24 instead of 18 for powering coils.
- Auxiliary8 driver board problems. MOSfets on this board short and burn

Wow! You really beat your games up if you have all those issues after one month!

Hit the return too fast while editing. but I am serious about those issues. I played on location a METpro and it showed typical signs about resetting the ball during play. Moved to another place and found an AC/DC. Same issue. In one day I counted 7 balls lost during whole day gameplay. Not to mention the frustration while I was getting a high score and end the match because of a reset.

Mmh.. clearly I should not have posted this thread in the Stern subforum. Everyone seems superhappy which is a good sign and Stern has taken good and important steps to avoid this in more recent models. But which ones in you opinion, dear fan... ehhrrmm... owners?

I have read peoples stories about most of those issues. So I wouldn't say that they don't happen. My met pro has thankfully never had trough issues. It has a mix of 555 and 44/47 bulbs in the GI. for ex, the bulbs under the slingsare 44/47, but others are 555 in areas that don't take abuse. The biggest GI issue I have had are the sling spotlights which are 555. Bulbs burn out quickly. Real 555 bulbs stay in there fine, but when I put leds in they did pop out once.

The slingshot bulbs on acdc prem and le are 555 style and they pop out non-stop unless you hot glue them in. Worst cost savings measure ever!
