I have a Stern 'Stars' playfield up on end that I stupidly knocked over. The bottom mechs side hit the ground. Upon standing it back up again, I noticed this on the ground. I assume it fell off the bottom of the playfield.

Any idea what it is or where it goes? Thanks!

Looks like a cabinet bumper to me.

Thanks ... What's a cabinet bumper and where does it go?

On the back side of the cabinet, also sometimes on the bottom of the backbox.

Looks similar but I think this one goes elsewhere else. I believe Stern added these inside the cabinet somewhere that contacts between playfield and cabinet.

The outside cabinet pieces should be more flat. This is too round.

Not a pinball part. Well, definitely not a PLAYFIELD pinball part.

This part attaches to the center of the top wooden rail of the playfield between the two arch plastics.

That's it! Thanks a lot.

This is where it goes (and fell off):

It's the push pins Rocky Dennis used on his map to plan his trip across Europe...

Came here to say this. Good work.

Also came to say I love Stars

I came here to say that is fugly and I would never put such useless crap on my Stars. What purpose does it serve?

Interesting, mine doesn't have that but does have holes there. No evidence of it in the plastic fade either

It likely is a bumper to avoid breaking plastics when you push and lower the playfield back into playing position.
