It sounds like it is always necessary to put the sarcasm emote since nobody reads every post on a topic.
These JJP only fanboys don’t know when to quit.

Well, I’ll never unsee that.
This clinches the premium for me (if the upper playfield didn’t already.)
Now I just need to see some gameplay streams.
I'm curious about the ball lock on the upper playfield.
Someone posted that they thought the lock was fed from a VUK. I figured you just shoot the balls up there from the flipper and they lock. Does that ramp act as a normal ramp at times?
It's a different looking mechanism for sure and I look forward to seeing how it functions.
Whew long thread and not sure if this was mentioned but seems like the knight mace spinner won’t work well and shots will Brick in the horizontal position, like the pic below. Seems like it would be better to have one spring ball slightly heavier, so the more weighted one returns below so the mace spinner is always vertical and ready for another hit.
Or is that Steve making you work for the shot? Like missing a bell shot on ACDC because the bell is swinging??

Pretty sure the game will know what position the mace is in and go horizontal at times to open the lane up. It's not so much a spinner as it is a bash toy (I think) that will be out of the way when designed to be.

Exactly, it appears to be programmed to fight/block you when it spins either direction and gives you a free shot at the lane when horizontal/not spinning. So it's mechanical and controlled rather than a loose spinner.

Just to compare prices between USA and mainly Europe, what will be the final price included all taxes and fee for a premium Version in USA ?

Ah thanks Gray, and others, there is a lot to digest
Quoted from November:Just to compare prices between USA and mainly Europe, what will be the final price included all taxes and fee for a premium Version in USA ?
it's not useful to compare the prices when you say ... including all taxes.
It's almost like if I was to go on a predominantly French web site and ask what do you guys pay for Health care or what do you pay for college Tuition? Here in US you can pay between $9K to $60K for college tuition per year.
In France, Germany etc.. people get paid maternity/paternity leave, free health care, free or subsidized child care, free or subsidized college tuition.
I believe the money for all these services comes from somewhere so that if you pay more for xyz item (say a pinball machine) but you get free health care that more than balances out. I pay $15K a year for health care, when kids needed child care was $500/week etc..
So it's important to note that when you are 'paying for a pinball machine" you are also paying for free healthcare, maternity leave etc..
but to answer your question some states may not owe any tax some may owe 2-10% tax depends on what state you are talking about.
I was quoted $7300 premium (including shipping) that could mean $7300 (no tax) to $8K (10% tax).

It's a vertical U shot. The locks sit above the chute you shoot into. If lock is lit, ball rides up the back and comes back to the lock lane above. If lock isn't lit, it looks like that chute is diverted to the exit to the right which acts kinda like a mini orbit.

I dont think so. The lane to the right leads from the lower metal ramp.

Lay off the porn, bro.
And damn you for searing that into my brain. Definitely getting the Premium now.
Quoted from NeilMcRae:speakers look a little different compared to previous LE's are the still JBL?
Munsters has Kenwood now...
So does the mace do 4 things?
1. horizontal - free to make the ramp shot
2. vertical - shot is blocked(a bash toy)
3. Fling the ball up the ramp
4. fling the ball back at you for maximum lulz.
If so, that sounds like a fun mechanism.

Just substract local sales tax off of your purchase, then you know what the shipping and your dealer costed you.
From TWIP:
The Pro model should be start shipping in the next two weeks. The Limited Edition model should then start shipping around early May, followed by the Premiums in late May/early June.
Stern also confirmed in a Facebook comment that the PUBLIC unveiling of the game will take place at the Midwest Gaming Classic, April 12th-14th in the Marco Specialties booth, so go check it out!
Can someone clarify what the upper-pf functions on the premium/LE. It looks like a loop/ball-lock mech, but am wondering if there is more too it than that?

Just 3 shots. The lock target. the lock and the loop. Basically the upper playfield is just for locking balls.

That is what I thought too. I'm just trying to find out the perspective on the overwhelming desire for the pre/le over the pro. Is it the desire for a physical ball lock or the nostaglia of BK having an upper pf? Something else?

A BK without an upper playfield is like a cheeseburger without the cheese......
I heard they had to tie Steve Richie down to a chair before telling him the Pro had to loose the upper playfield. Even then, 2 interns lost 3 theeth and an eye before they got him calmed down.
"15 Pinsiders have this game (LE) in their collection"
Some people are seriously jumping the gun.
It doesnt count until it's in the door and plugged in.
As someone who has never really liked the previous Black Knight games I am liking the possibilities this one has to offer. Looks like it could be a great game. I'm curious how the pro will play as that is my normal price cap but at least since I have no sentiment toward the series I dont feel like I need to have an upper playfield (though that doesnt mean I dont want one).
I'm very excited to see some gameplay.
I feel like Tim Sexton will be the kind of programmer to put in extra time out of love to make his game as good as it can be. Expecting good code support on this one.
I love most of Steve Ritchies games because you have to "FIGHT THE MACHINE".
Or like the Promotion for F-14 said, when introducing the backkicker: "It fight's back!"
On Star Trek you DON'T have the Enterprise on the Playfield (Pro) but the Vengeance.
And at the first glance everyone knows that you have to shoot it and it's wild fun, shaking, locking balls, backkicking...
On GoT you fight the Dragon and smash the door,...
the Iron Throne was an afterthought on the Pro due to popular demand (aka. shitstorm).
And while it would be obvious for other Designers to have the Enterprise on the playfield, in my opinion it makes way more sense like SR does it.
John Borg does the opposite. In GotG you shoot Groot & Aggro Raccoon. In Musters you shoot Herman Munster...
Why is that other then to Show something from the license? It makes no sense and tells no Story.
That said: I don't need a great story but "defeat all other houses and become the head honcho" or "defeat the black knight" is an actual goal and not just the usual "finish all modes for wizard mode" letdown.
In this regard I'm very much looking forward to the new black knight. We don't know yet how fun interaction will be, but if it feels halfway decent (I'm not yet 100% sold on it comapring to the Vengeace for example) this game will be a winner!

It doesn't?
When people order a game from Stern they generally actually get it, within weeks or max a couple months.
Quoted from Mando:Hope that’s not April fools
Well, it does just use BK for "Black Knight". Or Burger King.
Quoted from RVApinballer:Maybe I'm late to the game on this but looks like the catapalt lock is an over/under mech that loops around to the ramp just to the right when lock isn't lit. This picture cleared it up a lot for me. I think this is a pretty cool design.
[quoted image]
I think the upper PF lock is a halfpipe design similar to the skill shot in WCS. I'd guess the spike in the lock is only there when lock is lit to trap the balls. If lock isn't lit, then the ball can spill through. I believe the part on the right is the transition to the upper PF from the Flail Lane.

Please just order the Premium so I can play it at league. Also, come on, BK = Upper PF.

You should know by now that nostalgia and 'just because...' aren't factors that affect my purchases. Who else would buy a MET and Iron Maiden without hearing the music prior? Besides, Chris is picking up thur or fri nights for league so now you will have even more choices.

My initial impression as well.
I really haven't been excited for a new Stern release in years, but this one looks like it has gusto!
