Quoted from Mike_J:

Hang in there, Smokey and the Bandit will be here soon enough.

"Daddy! The roof came off!"

"Thank you ..... Nice lady ...."

"The bandit takes of his hat for one thing. And one thing only.."

Forget the critics classic movies ... Smokey and the Bandit is the best movie ever!

Quoted from Pinchroma:

Miata is one of the most capable track cars ever made. Hands down. Yeah a bit girly in street form but has an entire racing series dedicated to it.
http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spec_Miata
And you won't find a more fun car to drive 10/10ths.

Now, take a chassis which is even better than a Miata, and put 500hp in it.

That's what I drive.

Quoted from RobT:

Sweet!
I loved my 3rd Gen RX-7.
RX7-13.jpg 55 KB

OMG! I thought there was something "special" about Rob T .....

I've had 5 of the bloody things... can't stop myself.

97 Series 7 black RS
96 Series 7 white RS
92 Series 6 race car which I bought off R~Magic in Tokyo
92 Series 6 red one which was going to have a 20B Turbo in it with a 6 spd Hollinger for a track car but I sold it
98 Series 7 silver one which is the one in the picture, the only one I still have

Also have a 2003 black RX8 which is the wifes daily driver. I had the first RX8 in NZ which was titanium grey.

That R~Magic car was 500hp and 1100kg wet (2400 pounds...) 0-200kph in 10 seconds. Lethal car. Perfectly balanced.

Quoted from musketd:

The hype does not matter on this one guys; ford dealerships around the us will have pins in their showroom; this is a huge title for Stern and very smart; just think of all the new pinheads it could bring to the hobby and not to mention five generations of music too boot in the game. This title will be HUGE.

I agree with Derek with this one.

Lots of sales opportunities here to exploit if Stern are clever. Unfortunately I haven't seen too many signs of that ....

Top end car nuts have plenty of coin and will buy ANYTHING that takes their fancy.

How many high volume Mustang dealers are there in the USA? Hundreds? Each of them will want at least one machine. Someone wants a deal on a Stang ... "Hey, I'll tell you what ... Buy the Mustang at list price and I'll give you the pinball machine for $4000" Bang! Another machine sold.

Could and SHOULD be a big winner for Stern. No matter how good the machine plays.

Again Stern, I'm at a loose end at the moment and I am happy to move to Chicago and help you sell thousands of machines. It's what I do.

Quoted from 0geist0:

Buy a Mustang, get a pinball machine for free

Can't see that happening. The margin in a car wouldn't cover the cost of a pinball machine.

In saying that, there's no reason Ford couldn't run a special package Mustang 50th anniversary package for an inflated price and include a machine with it.

Certainly within the realms of possibility.
