Your probably going to get blamed for dropping it. Glue and clamps will be the way to go.

All it would take is a pass down the router table for them to dovetail the corners. What, like 2 minutes a cabinet.

Our carpenters use the Kreg screw system. If stern would use a good joint, glue them well and use the Kregs you would never worry about the corners splitting.

Rock solid right out of the box!

So that's literally right out of the box?

Looks like quality control is on the bottom or it has hit the bottom.

    Quoted from zr11990:

I was drinking the other day and reading this post and for the fun of it I called Stern and when TS answered I ask if this was Stern pinball, home of the ghosted inserts, chipping PFs and falling apart cabs. While they were floundering for an answer I hung up. Juvenile yes, fun yes. Everyone should try it.

Come on people. He was joking.

To be upfront I don't own a modern stern and never have. Do I want stern to fail, of course not. If you want to race to the top on prices fine but don't cut so many corners your customers quit buying and that's what's going on. Everyone has a price/value they are willing to pay. Seems many here would have already made new purchases if the issues were not in the equation.

Ferraris? Maybe this car would be a more apt comparison.

That car would smash a Ferrari like a bug and might wrinkle a fender.

You hear crickets because the same bullies who are constantly being moderated and downvoted all over pinside keep people from wanting to participate in any discussions.

A few of them might be on "vacation".

Stern has quietly fixed their playfield and maybe their cabinet issues. What's next...cheap ass wiring that catches fire!?

    Shhh...

    Quoted from xTheBlackKnightx:

In case anyone doubts cabinet construction from the past.
A manufacturer does not need to invent a repair kit, just do the job right the first time.
I do not advocate this testing process.
    » YouTube video

I saw that video in the other thread and thought what a firestorm it might start comparing Williams to Stern cabinets so I let it slide.

Glue, we don't need no stinking glue.

    Quoted from MustangPaul:

A couple of bucks? They probably buy 10,000 and pay 20 cents each, so more like $0.40 per game.
