I'd go jp. I like potc, but you will quickly get through the modes in it. Jp better code and challenge.

Not sure how you are buying a NIB JP for ~ 5K? I'd say that a VERY nice POTC can be had for high 4's. I bought my POTC last year and I'd rate it a 9/10. It has been issue-less. I've got to think that the JP will set you back ~7K in the door.
I've never played JP, but find the POTC a very nice game. I'm not a pro, so my games are still <70MM score. Every time I play, I get better and learn more.
