Never happen. Costco would never just all in and put a new product like this in all of their locations. They may do a test market like last time of 25 stores or less (if I recall).

Quoted from SantaEatsCheese:

Good point. Costco has 770 locations. Lets say they bring a pallet of 4 to each location, that's 3,000 machines at $4,000 each and $12,000,000 of revenue for an existing license, low/no art costs, low/limited programming, and a lightly modded existing layout.
I am really not a fan of the machine but there are some smart people working upstairs at Stern and I can see this making them some serious money.

2 inches less deep too so it will look smaller than your other machines. I guess the depth of a pin2k? Maybe that wouldn't bother you...

Quoted from konjurer:

Of course it is comparable. It is essentially a Pro without a coin door and a smaller LCD, and therefore, a 5" shorter backbox. Same playfield size. Same translite. Watching the stream, it also appears to have a rule set that is at least on par if not than better than a Bally Williams game. Roughly the same weight and feel. Quality music and animation. Commercial quality mechs.
Therefore if I can have a "pinball experience" that is equivalent to a Pro at $1800 cheaper then you have my attention. A coin door doesn't add fun to my experience. At $4000 it is much more likely that I could buy a NIB every year. It serves a purpose in the market.

I would thnk probably not if they skrimped on the drivers they probably only have enough for the existing hardware.
I doubt you could add anything to this game, so if you like it as is, that's all you're gong to get.
I thnk the LCD screen size is the biggest bummer. Teeny!

Quoted from KenLayton:

Be interesting to see if a shaker motor and a real knocker can be added to this machine.

By the time you do that you could have purchased a Star Wars PRO for the same price.

Quoted from Willy39:

How about buying a bigger lcd screen and mirroring it with the smaller screen? Maybe make a topper that mirrors what is on the small screen. If you can plug in a bigger screen and able to mirror the small display that would be pretty cool.

Street price will be $4k according to an ad I saw, not $3k. List price is $4499. 3k would be very tempting but probably would not leave Stern enough margin to be feasible.

Quoted from Willy39:

I am not in the market for either. Though for 3k or less I think I would be interested in the home edition. And adding a lcd screen as a topper mirroring the small screen would not be expensive $100 or so. I think more of the issue would be is if it could be done. Is there a way to plug in a second display and mirror the small display.

I think Jack said the Star Wars home was running the spike2 board (not spike1) if that matters in your wiki.

Quoted from KenLayton:

I've now started a section on pinwiki for Stern Home Model pins:

Help is appreciated in getting more information in it.

I would think you could buy a node board (if its out of warranty). Sure your game is down until then....

Quoted from KenLayton:

So if that node board craps out you are dead in the water and have a 250 pound paperweight.
