Quoted from 27dnast:I'm looking at these prices and, wow, Stern's aggressive price increase structure is kind of disheartening. Just four short years ago they had Pro games priced a few hundred dollars below $5K. Now those MSRPs are $5 away from $6,000.
Punch those numbers into a CPI calculator and the numbers don't even come close to adding up.
Sterns trumpets itself as holding the torch of pinball...keeping it lit...but is this the way they should be repaying the customers that paid to play for the games built during the lean years? Doesn't seem like it to me.
Not condoning or condemning stern. Tspp had an msrp of 4295 I think in 2003. Compound that over 13 years at 2% and you are close to 5600, not too far off from where they are now.
