Hello, my Xmen game won't start, it performs a ball search everytime I try to start a game and the DMD reads "Locating pinballs please wait..."

The other trough switches work fine, but the trough jam switch is always active and doesn't react to anything passing through the optos. I've tried reseating the optos and cleaning them but that didnt work.

Prior to this, I was occasionally getting games that would end prematurely. I'm thinking that was a precursor to whatever is happening now.

Appreciate any help

Time for me to tackle this.

Quoted from pinmike:

Correct number of balls in the game?Did you check and see if a ball is stuck somewhere on the playfield?

Did you test those optos in switch test to see if they register properly?

Checked for proper number of balls/stuck balls.

All switches work properly, EXCEPT "Trough Jam" is always active, and does not react to anything passing through the opto. Would it be correct to assume I need to replace the optos?
