Quoted from kaneda:I am in marketing.
SUPERmarketing, by any chance?
Quoted from BMore-Pinball:Do they have any old machines sitting around, I think they have sold every machine they ever put up for sale.
That's what I was thinking. Aren't they still in business because they got very good at adapting their manufacturing to demand? Not like they're going to dump the extras in a landfill, Atari E.T.-style.
Maybe OP is specifically talking about the 700 LEs.
The lack of an LCD is a big letdown, but I think the layout looks interesting and I'm anxious to see real photos and the Premium art. It's going to take more convincing than I expected for me to pull the trigger now, though.
I know kiss charges tons of money for everything, stern managed to put them on the playfield. so why not the got characters?
I wont be buying nib got le, art sucks on it, my walking dead been broken for 4 months and crappy customer service. my kiss le had many many issues I had to fix cause I couldn't get stern customer service for days. now the hole in the starchild area is still an issue because they made the cover so low that when the ball ejects from the hole the ball is hitting the plastic.
they saved my dumb ass some money I promised myself I would bank it!

Not for ColorDMD. Who would have thought the future is still so bright for them.
I would wager to say since Stern is getting into the MOD business that they might be releasing the "Limited Alternate edition" translite with only 1,000 made. the alternate translite will look like the one that actually belongs to the game which forces us to pay more money.....uuuuuuuuugh!
Quoted from JimB:Not for ColorDMD. Who would have thought the future is still so bright for them.
Depends if the game features real dots or TV show clips/CG animation. If the later, that'll be relatively impossible for ColorDMD to tackle.
Quoted from capguntrooper:which forces us to pay more money.
Sigh.
EXACTLY the attitude/mindset that Stern wants... mindless sheep feeling "forced" to buy....
Flash:
You can say No.
No to slapshod quality
No to incomplete software
No to "phoning it in" artwork
etc.
"But then I can't have my LE game the first week....WAAAAA WAAAAA WAAAA"
If pinheads would "grow a pair" - this shit would not stand....
We really don't need to keep bumping old GOT threads at this point. All of the GOT discussion is happening in the main thread.
Game left me being bored after playing. Can't play a multiplayer game due to software scoring bugs in the present code. Hit over a billion on 4th game.

The technology would be there to replace those segments with actual video footage of the same in real time. But regardless, the fps of those animations is low. The entire frame could be colorized individually. Even though it's a pain it will still happen.

the compelling title of this thread coupled with the "facts" about the market you laid down with such conviction is why I posted here.
Quoted from jlm33:Agreed on all counts.
Yep. If you made pinball, and sold all you could make at $6000, why keep the price at $4500? I don't understand why those that won't/don't want to pay seem to say nobody should pay that either. Its what makes a market - if we didn't have both buyers and sellers at a fair price, no games would trade or sell. Someone is willing to pay $6000 for all Stern can make of the pro models (except WWE?), so I guess the price isn't "too high".
