    Yeahhhh really should learn to work on your games mate. The jumpers look ugly, but they are perfectly functional. I wouldn't have run the long one to ground, rather have just connected it to a closer one as it looks neater, but still works.

    Whitestar uses IRL540's to drive the coils. They can short out and instead of locking on, just do not work. Those jumper wires are not very likely to be related to the failure. You will need to replace the associated irl540 AND the diode on the failed coil. Failing to do that means you will just ruin kill the new irl540.

    On the coil? Should be. Just to remember to replace it and the irl540 at the same time. Failing to do that and one will just kill the other.
