Why doesn't a community emerge that writes and replaces the code? An open sourced project would give serious pinballers a venue to fix all those legacy bugs, missing modes, stupid rules and wouldn't be at the mercy of Stern or anyone else to react to complaints. Further, I don't understand why Stern themselves don't promote this, it would alleviate them from having to do it themselves to a degree. It would follow that pinball owners would be really, really grateful and perhaps even help pay the tab since it could potentially make existing games (read: unfinished) more valuable.
