Where exactly is that comment at?
Everyone on here should 'like' their response, and then get everyone you know to as well.
Found it under posts to page. Button clicked. If we can make it become their most liked comment of all time, that's something right? Probably not, but who knows.
Quoted from Arcade:I just commented and liked the post. But I still can't find it on Sterns main page anywhere
Left side, scroll down to "Posts to Page." Look for Paul's question then click the icon for "show comments."
Thanks. Could not find it again using the Facebook app.
Everyone with a Facebook account needs to post something encouraging on that link while we have their attention for a moment.
It is easy to take pot shots at them there, but don't. It will just get deleted anyway and we need to encourage them to do something good.

Tried that. Stern has a hard time taking outside suggestions valid most times, but we can hope they will try better.
Quoted from Aurich:I was just trying to set my tone, I think it's important to note that you can be frustrated without actually feeling hateful towards Stern.
Hating takes too much time and energy =)
Quoted from Captain_Kirk:Funny pic from a user on Facebook. Nice to see Stern respond without banning him.

We haven't achieved a victory yet.
We need to keep hammering Stern.
The response seemed generic to me as well.
Keep posting on their Facebook page.
Oorah!!! Oorah!!! Oorah!!! Oorah!!!
We won't stay quiet, and will get our code.
Funny on stern facebook.
If you are a costumer, bought their pin, and ask for updates, you get banned.
But if you tell you want to buy one, but are waiting for code. You get an official stern response that they are working on it.
What a way to do business, cant believe it.

It is sad, and I talked extensively about their thin skin.
They delete comments that aren't 100% flattery.
Poor customer service.
"Hi, i was going to buy a dozen Star Treks from my local distributor but i heard someone on the internet say the software was broken. I think his name is Steve Ritchie and im not sure if youve heard of him. Please let me know when the software is fixed so i can submit my order. Thanks"

Love your comment.
This subject has gone on and on and on. People are mad and want to boycott Stern games till they put them out with complete code. But People keep buying them like gas before a hurricane and Stern keeps putting out the same old stuff with unfinished code.

Done the like on FB. Wonder if they care? Still like having a game on my LE, but will be interested to see what more can be to make it even better.
I got a pending trade for an x-men pro.. Honestly if he was next door i'd have done it already, maybe the update will come out before we can do the exchange and i'll change my mind. I like the game, it's not bad at all.. but find myself playing everything else in my lineup instead of Trek (BSD & Fathom lately!). I dig the movies and the shows, i think in a home environment the one more game factor is nil as it sits today (Edit: compared to the rest of my games.. I still rate ST very favorably)
I think posting a like on that comment on Facebook is a mistake If you want to get your point across. Stern gave no timeline and was as the OP stated very generic. No sense in liking that. Without a timeline the comment is pointless.
Any acknowledgement that they're working on it is pretty good in my book. There clearly wasn't much of a timeline for the Karl Urban update, but we knew it was coming.
Is everyone happy with the Galactic Away Team and how it's tied into tier 1 missions? While I welcome more diversity, it just seems rather limited. GAT probably would not be a good fit for level 2/3 missions, so AT goes back to being just a mode start like it was before. Since there's no unique dots for GAT I suppose they did the best they could for giving more substance to level 1 missions which everyone was complaining about. Maybe it's fine the way it is after all, but if you could change it, what would you change with GAT?
Rob
I just don't want a rushed, half baked update. Go through the game, see what needs to be fixed and just fix it right. We have a pretty good list in the bugs thread. I'm kinda content waiting (not ages) if they actually put a real effort into doing it right instead of a rushed mess. I think that's what kind of happened with the last update. Heck, even a few incremental updates would be appreciated. How hard is that? Why does it have to be all done at once?

Quoted from Pinbally_1968:My STLE is starts falling apart, DMD failure, ramp opto problems, punch button no longer lit. Adding the uncomplete and to my opinion, unplayable code makes it a vere expensive Xmas tree.
Fix the code Stern!!!
urmmmm that's not ALL the code, that means you have to get off your ass and actually fix it yourself, then you can mian about code after
For those that think the code is broken or bad, here's an idea...
Go complete all 18 modes. I thought it was pretty awesome at the end of stage 2 and 3...
and if you don't like it after that, Sell it. Simple.
Duh, yes i know i have to fix that myself, just saying that the poor code + all other problems which occur within 2 years of home use is not what you may expect from a 7K machine. So now it is just sitting there showing off its lightshow basically.
I don't understand this discussion. Not one bit. Never will.
It's a completely self produced problem. People are buying pins with unfinished code, whine about it here on Pinside, buy the next pin with unfinished code, whine again. And then threads like this are startet in which the whole pinball community whines together. And everyone blames Stern? You are making this situation possible, Stern is just doing what is best for their business. You are in this hobby due to your love for the game, Stern is in this business to make money. You can say please or threaten them as often as you like, if it doesn't have any monetary consequences for Stern, then why should they change it???
Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome is the definition for what...?
Simply stop buying unfinished pins. You can change how this market works by just for once not buying the latest machine. With the pace Stern is pumping out new titles you just need to hold back from buying a NIB pin for 6 months or a year and you can be sure they will very quickly rethink their approach to software releases.
There is nothing to miss out on, new Sterns are not collector items, not even the LEs. They will still be readily available later even if you insist on NIB.
I fully understand why Stern is doing this, the only thing i don't understand is why you guys keep buying this stuff.
Yes, i'd like a ST to, but the code is (not yet) to my likings. If the code get's updated, great, then i'll buy one, if not, then not. There are so many other interesting pins...
Quoted from ectobar:Where exactly is that comment at?

WTF??? NO! Why should anyone like their response?
Everyone needs to like the original posting from Paul! You need to show that you are in line with his question/claim, not with the cookie-cutter stereotype promises we've been hearing from them since so many years.
If they say something in the sense of "the update is finished and contains these improvements: xxxxx", THEN you should like it. You want action taken, not promises made, Stern has always been great in promises, but not in delivering on them.
I played STLE last night. I played it as I know I'm going to be tempted to buy wrestlemania.
I think the wrestlemania LE sounds amazing. So I play STLE and think of what it cost and how I value it. I play through all of mission one and turn the game off. I leave disgusted with non working features and what feels like lackluster code.
I play Street Fighter 2 a little and shake my head at how bad the animations are, but still have some fun with it. At $1000.00 in I feel pretty good about SF2. It's worth the money I have in it. I then play AMH and it has some bugs. The code is very far along and its a deep game. AMH has some issues that I know need fixed. So I'm kinda wondering when AMH will get another update and get an email from Charlie. He says they replicated my small issues and will let Ben know. He indicated these will be fixed shortly. I think awesome I'm loving AMH and when those little bugs are fixed I will enjoy it even more.
I read this thread and think what if I buy wrestlemania from Stern? Will the LE get coded if it doesn't sell well? Will the features work? AFTER STLE I've decided I'm not going to take the risk.
I've also decided I'm not buying anymore games from Stern NIB unless Lyman is doing the code. Your only sure bet is Lyman.
I challenge someone to name a recent Stern title with complete code that Lyman has not worked on.
And I do not want to hear Avengers as it is not complete. Missing animations makes it not complete. Xmen was a mess and still has issues. Mustang. We know that's being abandoned.
What else? I challenge yinz to find a game with comete code without Lymans name on it.
Guys, stop buying NIB Stern titles until you have played the game and are fully satisfied with code because we at pinside are getting tired of everyone bitchin about incomplete code for the 1000000 time. Stern will never change if the masses continue to buy games site unseen or unplayed. Obviously Stern needs to step it up but I have been reading about unfinished code on Pinside now for 3 years and doesn't seem to get any better. Buying NIB Stern titles obviously isn't for the faint of heart and its not like you didn't know what you were getting into. I'm in the market for a couple NIB games for on route but won't be rushing out to by the "next big thing" until I have played it and am satisfied. Seems to make sense doesn't it?
I haven't gotten very close to completing the 18 missions and having a lot of fun with the code as is, I know there are bugs but so far it seems that the laser remaining on after Klingon Multiball sometimes which is one of the greatest multiballs ever by the way, I don't notice any others? Galactic lanes is cool, the modes are great and lots of multiballs via vengeance, klingon's, warp ramp. I want new code but its not like I'm getting to a wizard mode that isn't there, or the game is shutting down periodically. Stern take your time and finish the code right, this a keeper pin for me and I want final code to be great.
Quoted from hank527:Your only sure bet is Lyman I challenge yinz to find a game with comete code without Lymans name on it.
What happened to pfutz? Stern should seek out an old heavy hitter like him to do some code.
The problem with that is: Stern has leveraged pre-sales through the implementation of "Limited Editions" that are full-featured like all pins used to be a few years ago. So if you want the "best" version of the game, you HAVE to buy early to secure that game. While increasing prices and lowering build quality.
It is a terrible, exploitive business model and Stern should abandon it immediately.
IMO.

Yeah it will get old fast if you just play through the level 1 missions every time. I did that for a while and got close to selling it. Play a 1-2 each time or a 1-2-3. Then throw in some Vengeance modes and save your Warp Factor double scoring for a level 2 mode or for Super Ramps.
Just took notice on Sterns FB page, how they liked the comment that it takes 24-36 months to complete code for their games
Ahh it was removed by their page manager..

Transformers comes to mind. What do I win May not be liked code but seems complete to me.
I own star trek and I have no idea what you guys are constantly whining about, the star trek code is great

You have obviously not played a lot of Nero 2 yet.
Quoted from oscarspa:you imagine games playstation or xbox to be sold with the game half do, you will come to a stage and I say wait for the code is finished!!!, none were would sell
Have you played video games lately? You do get half the game and the rest is Downloadable Content:
You want more missions = $5
You want to play the missions you already own oline = $5
You want more weapons = $5
You want to play as the character on the box = $10
You just spent 50% more for the "complete" game (and yes, many time there is a wait for the content). I am not sure that this is a model that I want pinball to follow.

$5 for more missions? Sign me up.

Ha ha, just made up some numbers, that would be a short mission...and if it was pinball (percentage of retail price) each update would be like $500+

Exactly! COD is probably the worse on doing this. I hate DLC on games because my internet connection is so bad I can hardly download it. But you're right, it's about the same thing.
For all the people banging their head against a wall saying do noy buy NIB games from stern I have this to say.
Ok so everyone waits until code is done to start buying pins but distributors did not order any because no one seemed interested. Now for me there is only one distibutor of stern pins locally. Unless I want to drive 10 hrs round trip to go to the second nearest.
So the pin becomes a smash hit like everyone thought, and the code is fantastic.
And any one that preordered or other disyributors jack up the price.
The distributor has a run on them, but has a wait list as their shipment only comes from stern so often.
They sell out. It was a first come first serve basis. Some got them some didnt.
Well I thought I wanted the pin when it first came out. But waited till the code was finished.
So now Im stuck either buying a used one at an inflated price. Or more tha NIB price.
Or if I can get one shipped adding $300-400 to the price. Or much more with duty and taxes if I have to ship it across the border.
Or if the other closest distributor has one make a 10hr round trip drive to go get it. Costing a day+ gas and food.
Maybe a hotel too.
So if you like a pin buy it.
Its not wait until code is finished to buy.
It IS that Stern should finish code in a timely manner. And not release 2 other machines before even starting to complete it.
It should be completed before resources get put on the next project.
And definately before a machine is no longer on the production line.
Dont blame the buyers, blame Stern for creating the situation.
Star Trek was my first NIB pin. I did not know that Stern dealt with code the way they do when I bought it.
I thought it was going to get regular updates. Also becase of the karl urban speech pack announcement. Which came 9 months late.
Not have the code "broken" over a year after buying it, and the last update months ago.
I think the main thing is, customers deserve service. Not don't buy it.
No customer should ever feel abandoned. And that how I think most Star Trek owners feel at the moment.
And Stern needs to make this right.
Quoted from Plungemaster:Yeah that is the same.
A 60 euro videogame or an 8000 euro pin.
Zzzzzzzz.
I'm talking principles, so you can go back to sleep.
Quoted from Fresh_Wax:it takes 24-36 months to complete code for their games
Why?
20 years ago in the 90s it didn't take that long.
Seinfeld;"What is it with pinball software?" "Ever notice that they can't get it finished?"
