I downloaded the latest StarWars Pro update and plugged in a brand new SanDisk Ultra Flair USB 3.0 Flash Drive, 16GB, and ensured it was FAT-32 formatted . When I go to copy the downloaded file to the root directory, I get a windows message that the file is too large. Any advice? Thanks.

    Larger GB USB stick.

    LTG : )

Even if you copied the .zip file by mistake it's only slightly over 4 Gb so would easily fit on a 16Gb flash drive.

Right-click on your flash drive. How much empty space does Windows say is available?
What size are each of the .spk files after they have been extracted, before you try to move them to the flash drive?
Double-check the file names. Sometimes the extraction program appends additional numbers (but that should not impact the size).

I’ve had this happen before. I ended up reformatting the usb stick and it solved the issue.

FAT 32 formatted drives have a file size limit of 4 Gb.

Which is why you don't copy the dowloaded file to the usb, you unzip it there

2 Tb is the FAT32 drive size limit.
The file size limit for any individual file is 4Gb. None of the files in question approach 4Gb.

That's your problem - 'When I go to copy the downloaded file'

When you download from Stern it will be a single zip file.
Unzip that file on your computer and you will get multiple spk files.
Copy THOSE files to the root level of your USB drive - not the zip file, not a folder of the extracted files.

    None? Earlier you wrote:

And indeed, the .zip file is 4.1 GB (as you say), which means it would not be able to be copied to a FAT32 drive.

If the OP is incorrectly trying to copy the .zip file to the drive, that would explain the failure.

They can instead open the .zip file from its download location on the PC, and just drag the files that are inside the .zip file over to the thumb drive.

Also don't have to unzip to PC first, straight to USB is fine.

16GB USB drives were common 10 years ago. You need a bigger drive, 64GB minimum in 2022.

Thanks all, unzipping and moving the individual files worked.

actually the bigger drives have been problematic at times getting the devices to recognize them. Partitioning them to 8 or 16gigs is usually recommended to make them more reliable.
