You can't lift the playfield on Hercules either. It can still be serviced.
You guys get very panicky.
Quoted from frolic:I wonder if ANY sold (other than to jpop )?
The Costco manager near me said they sold 9 of them at his location.
There are over 400 Costco stores.
Quoted from bobbyconover:But how many carry The Pin? I don't believe any of the ones here in WA do.
If you want one and your neighborhood incomes don't not support the sale of $2500 toys, order it through your store manager.
I'm trying to buy the floor sample when they finally run out at one of the 3 local Costcos that have them around here.
Quoted from pinmanguy:it's crazy not to have it serviceable though
It is serviceable.
Don't let all the Pinside squawkers imply that it isn't, especially when they have not even seen one in person or played it, LOL.

Pictures of the underside of the playfield.
Quoted from The_Dude_Abides:How can you service it if the field does not lift vid?
The bottom unscrews.
Quoted from luvthatapex2:No way a real pinball..
Standard flippers
Standard pops
Standard balls
Ramps
Multiball
Wizard mode
Tilt
Better sound that 90% of all the pinball machines ever made.
Better lighting that 90% of all the pinball machines ever made.
Full size playfield
No vacuum displays to outgass.
Made in USA.
=
What's not real about it, exactly?
Quoted from jonnyo:Also, it really, really needed a LCD.
I've played a bunch of WOZ and so far, LCD does nothing at all to improve gameplay (I know, wait until Fall when the game is finished).
I'll take fun gameplay over a bunch of silly animations on a display anyday.
Quoted from Don1:how many pinball owners open up and work on their own tables? Is it 25, 50, 75% of owners?
Here on Pinside, many owners do some level of service on their games.
Out in the real world, I do a great many service calls on other people's games. "I'm usually pretty good at fixing stuff. I replaced that fuse there, a cupla times. Dang thing keeps blowin!" - real customer quote.
Quoted from luvthatapex2:And then they show this stripped down non-commercial home model without dmd
Many of the greatest pinball games of all time do not have a DMD.
Goofy animations and video game modes worse than an Atari 2600 do not a great pinball game make.
Quoted from luvthatapex2:Its the worst stern pinball made in 13 years, now isnt it?
I guess you have not played it.
It is totally fun and fast.
Austin Powers or Sharkey's Shootout are WAY worse games.
Quoted from cichlid:Pins are different than cars?
LMFAO
They are different TO cars , learn to read Child.
Quoted from pinmanguy:pins are different to cars.
Quoted from s1500:Yeah, but isn't it so big you can just get a creeper and work under it upside down like a car? heh.
Just open the bomb bay doors and let the dust drop.
Quoted from Shoot_Again:At the price point and quality of this thing it is a nightmare
It's made of all regular Stern parts. Same flippers, pops, ramps, balls.
How is the quality of this pin a nightmare, exactly?
Quoted from Shoot_Again:Then has reliability issues with it.
Stern sends a regional repair man to the house to fix it.
Once the warranty is over, you get to pay the repair man yourself.
It's just like a washing machine, but flashier.
Quoted from Shoot_Again:lets say the 180 deg ramp guides for a prime example. quality. I am sure for this price point there were tons of corners cut. Any other proving points vid. IMHO this thing is worth nothing but 15 bucks to give it to the dump.
All I can say is play it.
It's totally fun.
It's made of standard Stern parts. I will not have any problems fixing it, nor would I expect any other competent pin tech to have trouble with it.
Quoted from mrgone:it really is too bad the pin did not work out.
Last month, Gary said they are selling just fine .
They are still making them.
People are still buying them.
They are still fun to play.
Quoted from rockrand:where can you buy them?
Call your local distributor.
They have them at some membership stores (Sam's) , and sometimes on Amazon.
Quoted from toyotaboy:Seriously, why would anyone pay $2500-$3k for a ......pinball machine that looks toy
It's not marketed to pinheads, it is marketed to housewives.
It had to be UPS ship-able.
It had to be light enough for a woman to put the legs and head on.
Quoted from toyotaboy:Not to mention the horrible resale value if you ever decide to get rid of it.
Housewives don't care about "resale value".
The Pin was sold by Amazon for $2500 delivered. That's a few hundred dollars less than a similar toy, the Super Chexx hockey dome.
