What is the average age of your guests?

I'll add this. When I had almost all DMD games I had guests come over that wouldn't even touch them, including my own daughter. As soon as the shift was made to older games more started getting played including my daughter. Now everybody that comes over wants to play.

18 and up and all ages in between. Most are 30s-50s. My daughter brought a friend her own age 18 last weekend who had never played before and got addicted. Fast.

Love PBR and of course most point beers, stevens point home town pride. Now central waters Burban barrel stout. Good strong stuff.

I get that... but its not about complexity as much as its about FUN.

Games like Doodle Bug are simple.. yet FUN. It's FUN to get the get bug going. Simple, yet rewarding. Whoa Nellie lacked that IMO... The Hobbit lacks it currently. Two examples of extremes of complexity.. and neither is fun.

Themes help draw people in to try something... they give people something to relate to and content to use they enjoy or relate to. But ultimately the game has to be FUN.. and usually rewarding/payoff is a good portion of that.

I find Hobbit a chore to play.. in that.. I don't even really want to play it.

I was just speaking more to the idea that because of this beer theme.. it would do good. I'm sure it would sucker in a lot of people for 'let me check this out'... but I wouldn't see it HOLDING people and bringing them back.. because theme alone doesn't do that.

Hobbit is a current hit amongst anyone who comes to my house- if you mean "chore" by bad ass fun, awesome sound, lighting, and gameplay- then it's quite a chore. I know we all have our opinions, but JJP really did a great job with the Hobbit and I'm very happy I bought it. It's also an easy to approach game for people who aren't into pinball I've found.

I've got thirty awesome games of fun from the 40s all the way up to the late 80s and it's time to go play as many of them as we can.

This happens? Do you get 2x after completing the rollovers the first time? I've played a fair amount of games on Whoa Nellie and it seems to me that once you complete the rollover lanes and cash in at the turkey shot the game simply starts over. Maybe you get 2x for the rest of the ball you are on but not for any remaining balls? Can anyone clarify?

You are correct in that cashing in at the gobble hole clears the playfield. Once you cash in the next melon roll over lights a star roll over and pop for double the value. So that pop is now worth 20 instead of 10. If you can complete the melon rollovers for the second time the entire playfield will be lit for 20 points which can really get your score going. I've only completed the 2nd round a couple of times. On the third you get 30 points for each pop or star roll over that is hit. It's rumored that something cool happens if you complete the third round but I've never gotten close.

The game has some strategy as you can try to light everything and then just try to keep the ball alive. Or you cash in and try to light everything for 20 points instead of 10. Everything resets on each ball if the roll overs have been completed. Completing them twice on one ball is hard as hell to do. Not sure how anyone could do it 3 times.

They really have some nerve if they call THAT a gobble hole.

Looks really cool to me and maybe a palatable game for locations or collections where Nellie just wasn't gonna fly because of the boobage. Pretty oddball theme but I like it.

Back when gobble holes abounded, that would be called a kick-out hole.

Maybe an A&W Root Beer drive-in theme.

My guess is they aren't done rethemeing this layout. Someone mentioned that this was going to be a limited run machine with sales to Pabst employees. Maybe they do similar runs with other companies.

Looks family friendly to me, I had PBR in my baby bottle. To me this machine is patriotic and I want one. PBR me ASAP

was Lucky Lager in the 11oz stubby bottles with the rebus puzzles under the cap;
it was cheaper than soda pop at that time in California.

I still haven't clocked WNBJM and I have heard of no one who has.( legitimately ) GC on mine is only 6255 on 5 balls, brutal game that is soooooooo much fun. Also no one is offended by the mature content either. Double entendre is funny.

It's not a fun game.... Yet.

I literally accepted taking zeros in league rather than preplay it this past week because when faced playing a lot of games it's just not fun. There is so little payoff for completing modes or objectives today in the game. Beast frenzy/hurry ups... Yawn. 3lock multiball... Yawn. I just have not found anything that makes me keep playing. Meanwhile I'll put a 5 dollar bill in got or twd at the same location.

I prefer my beer in bottles.

Why the soft launch? Was it leaked?

I wouldn't say I'm excited about it, but maybe cool idea. That's the sort of game I'd spend $1500 on as a novelty for the game room. I sure can't see $6500 for it.

The owner of our local barcade was talking about this pin the other day. They have a really strong relationship with Pabst and will be getting a machine, the only one on location in the south-east region from what I hear.

While I don't share your affection for Hamm's beer, I will say one thing for it - I've always LOVED their Scene-o-Rama signs! A nostalgic memory of mine from vacations in Wisconsin as a kid.
